"Lamont was jailed under the Offensive Behaviour at Football and Threatening Communications (Scotland) Act 2012. This draconian law makes it potentially a crime to use “offensive” speech and gestures at football that would not be illegal elsewhere"

    See the lie?

    They are illegal "elsewhere" hence:

"was sentenced to four months in prison for bawling the sectarian classic The Billy Boys on a Glasgow street "

    What?

Breach of the Peace is indeed illegal, but singing "up to yer knees in fenian blood" has always been a Breach of the Peace? That's news to me. Well, I stand by what I've been saying all along, it's a farcical erosion of free speech. It's an historically offensive song, yes, but to make it illegal beggars belief. What other sectarian songs have been made illegal? What will be illegal next as they erode what anyone can say?

"All ******s must die" is an abuse of free speech because it is illegal on two counts. Racist and incitement to violence.

"I hope all Gays get Aids" is free speech. It breaks no lawful act. Offensive, yes, but free speech often is.

Free speech is not nice and comes at a high price but it should not be allowed to be eroded by any Governance throwing around facile law (such as the OP) and we should not allow it to happen.

So we arrive at the crux....

Free speech and law. Free speech is ours. The law defines what is abuse of free speech. Be careful what you give away because it suits you. The more you give away now the greater you lose later.

...or, we just do what the radical muzzies do and chop every ****'s head off.

No, It's about members of PTO's and as such fall under the same legislation. That is why CFC asked their fans not to sing it. Do you think they just didn't like the tune?

CFC plays songs penned by Mr Sands in their stadium bar

They are also against the OBAF Act

Mr Sands was also an elected member of parliament

Actually saying I hope all gays get aids could be considered homophobic and could see you charged under the criminal justice act 2003. It could be considered a hate crime.

He was a known, self confessed member of a proscribed terrorist organisation and It is illegal in the country to celebrate or promote anything involved with a PTO.

If Celtic are flouting that law by playing songs then as long as no one complains nothing can be done. Do they play those songs over the stadium tannoy?

The song doesn't promote any groups, its a lament about the demise of 10 individuals. It's not offensive. They didn't die committing terrorist acts,It doesn't ask anyone to join any proscribed terror groups

**** I'm saying the wrong thing here

    Why does it offend you?
