Good Morning All, It looks like Leeds may have won the race to sign Chris Wood. please log in to view this image 2.5m - 3m is a lot of money. Would it have been better spent on Le Fondre and Maynaard, or is it worth spending the extra, to outbid Wolves? If Leeds do sign Wood, it will be the most expensive transfer since we bought Nicky Barmby in the Summer of 2002 for 2.75m Midfielder Tommaso Bianchi has been linked with a return to Italy to sign with Vicenza, report local outlet Vicenza Today. Bianchi signed a 3 year deal last Summer, but the 26 year olds season was cut short by a knee injury. Vicenza finished third in Serie B last season. Last week it was reported they had lodged an enquiry with AC Milan over last season's injury struck loanee Zan Benedicic
Morning all... Chris Wood is a bit of a Catch 22 I would certainly prefer him over Maynard no question about it but near to £3m?? Certainly too much but then who else is there, we are not going to sign a prolific player for anywhere near this amount.
Morning Elland and all. Welcome back to the madhouse. I dont know anything about Wood but its certainly a pleasant change that we are now spending proper money on players. It surely opens up a whole new market that hasnt been available to us in recent years. Paying big bucks guarantees nothing of course but it is highly unlikely or impossible that we would ever get promoted using our old model of loanees and hasbeens
Morning all If Woods is as good as everybody makes out then let's splash the cash on him. I don't think it's either Woods or Maynard I think we're trying to get both. Rumour has it that Rosler has personally spoken to Maynard to convince him to come to the club. Add that to the fact we're handing over Sharp as part of the Murphy deal. Looks like it's both Woods and Maynard. I'm even more convinced we'll try and give Morison the heave hoe as well this summer. Oh Bianchi is going... bye bye don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.
On another note, at least we are only using Wiki to see what their goal scoring record is like, not because we are thinking WHO!!?? So far the players we are being linked with I can type into Wiki, apart from the Icelandic lad we were linked with I am having to do far less copy and paste
Good Morning Matt and his merry men from a sunny Bardsey Well the signing of Woods would send a message out to all the other clubs that the giant is waking up and that we mean business this season. If my mate Popey says we are nearly there we areunfortunately I won't be able to speak to him today as I have some pressing commitments which need my 100% attention Other interesting news this weekend concerning Jamie Murphy looks like we will have some real pace upfront this lad can catch pidgeons operates on the left but is right footed so tends to cut inside a bit like Sinclair did when he was at Swansea So front 3 Murphy Woods and Erwin Not surprised in the least about Bianci leaving did not impress me but I hope he has recovered and wish him well I think that he won't be the last Ajose, Sharpe maybe used in swap deal with Murphy Dokara and Byram well where I we getting the money from to fund all these signings ? Finally Paterson of Forest has also crpped up just the right age 23 and can score goals bring it on!
Hi all, and hope you had a good week Elland. I had a great time but is was too bastard hot in Spain for me, and had the skin stripped from me playing 3 rounds of golf. I see nothing much has changed and not sure Maynard or Wood are the answers, but as someone has already said, what else is there for £3m
Well the Daily Star are suggesting we are going to be snubbed by Chris Wood who favours Wolves, Birmingham are not willing to sell Donaldson and Maynard prefers Forest so our attention has turned to Felipe Avenatti so I will shut up about having to Wiki players if this is the case, glad it is only the Star reporting this...
Not sure digging rumours from the star will be good for your wellbeing Ristac. I think they recycle week old twitter stuff
His potential is very good. He needs to be alot more aggressive in his play IMO. He doesnt use his size well enough. He is pretty clinical in front of goal and capable of scoring some beauty's He has a great attitude and given a run in the team he will do well for you He was **** hot when he signed for us and scored 10 goals in just over 5 games and then 1 in the next 10. And then during our title winning season the form of Nugent and Vardy kept him out the team. And this season with Ulloa signing his days looked numbered. He scored the equaliser against Everton but his chances was still limited. He struggled on loan for Ipswich Since then we signed 2 more strikers for nearly £20M so Wood leaving is inevitable Overall I think we have done well to getting £2.5M for a player who hasnt played to his potential for 2 years and in the final year of his deal. But its good business by you lot as he is easily capable of scoring 20 goals a season for you All the best for next season
I think Wood (notice there isn't an 'S' on the end of his last name people) could come off but just as easily wouldn't. He is most definitely better than any other striker we have at the club. We just need to be offloading some of the current strikers we have to be honest. Really do not fancy signing Maynard to be honest.
Don't think he was being ironic - thinks every Cellino signing is a superstar and home grown players are only picked because they were "Redders'" favourites. Would help if he actually watched the team once in a blue moon!
If you have to actually watch before commenting this place is fecked. More plastic here than at a large land fill site.
Got no problem with that at all - you go way more than I do / can. Part of the interest in this for me is hearing the views of those lucky enough to go all the time but I wouldn't come on saying so and so is only in the team because he is someones favourite if I hadn't even seen them play!!
