The Daily Torygraph is suggesting that we have made an increased offer of £42.5 million for Ramos. I don't mind us increasing our bid if we are increasing the fee for De Gea by the exact same amount, but there has to be a limit before we look at other contenders
United have agreed a deal to sign Nicolas Gaitan from Benfica, his agent has claimed. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/450504/Man-United-transfer-news
This is just cock waving to let them know that if they want De Gea they will have to come with a fat wallet.
I thought it was 42m euros? But if true I cant believe we'll have given £100m to RM for 2 players. Dear god!
Apparently we are asking £35m for Degea even though he has only 1 year left of his contract left and is keen to go to Madrid. The club would signal that they were prepared to lose him fir free next year. I like that because if you think yourself as one of the big players you can't let one of your rivals dictate to you their terms
Yeh given the choice between De Gea for another year or a nominal amount around £15m, it makes sense to keep him. Nothing to lose in real terms.
If we are using hair quality/amount as a criteria for selecting defenders then I think we should go for Nicolás Otamendi
We will need his hair to make up for De Gea's when he leaves. Glad we're linked with Arda Turan - immense full facial follicle growth.
Man Utd assistant manager Ryan Giggs lifts the lid on what he and manager Louis van Gaal are planning to do this summer. Louis van Gaal’s assistant says the Dutchman is looking to strengthen the ‘spine’ of the team, including a new centre-back, central midfielder and a striker. United will also have to replace David De Gea if the Spanish goalkeeper moves to Real Madrid. Giggs revealed that he was in touch with Van Gaal and Albert Stuivenberg during his summer break to talk about potential new arrivals. And he says United are in the market for ‘proven winners’ who can make a difference in both the Premier League and Champions League. Giggs told the Sunday Times: “If there are players available who are winners, who are proven then, yeah, let’s go and get them. “On holiday I was still on the phone to Albert about players coming in and players for the new season. “With any good team, the spine is important. Midfield, striker, centre-backs, goalkeeper. I’m sure we’ll be looking to strengthen the spine all the way through."
Not giving any secrets away there really, it makes sense that if a player of sufficient quality becomes available (in any position) we should be trying for them.
