I want to get into reading again, haven't since school. But the one thing I hate is buying books, reading them and having them clutter up everywhere. Does anyone have a kindle? Are they worth it?
The language/grammar or lack of it do make The Road interesting with that alone. My son was a similar age to the boy on the book, so that gave me a real strong link to the book as that father/son relationship happened. I haven't seen the film though.
I had to go out and mow the grass at the clubs football pitch today and do some white lining ready for next weekend's tournament... I did record it though before going out, so will watch later or tomorrow.
This week, Google released a research paper chronicling one of its latest forays into artificial intelligence. Researchers at the company programmed an advanced type of “chatbot” that learns how to respond in conversations based on examples from a training set of dialogue. And the bot doesn’t just answer by spitting out canned answers in response to certain words; it can form new answers from new questions. This means Google's researchers could get a little creative with it, and they certainly did — they asked the bot everything from boring IT questions to inquiries about the meaning of life. Human: What is the purpose of life? Machine: To serve the greater good. Human: What is the purpose of living? Machine: To live forever. Human: Where are you now? Machine: I’m in the middle of nowhere. Human: What is the purpose of dying? Machine: To have a life. Human: What is the purpose of emotions? Machine: I don’t know. Human: What is moral? Machine: What empowered humanity, what intellectual the essence is. Human: What is immoral? Machine: The fact that you have a child. http://uk.businessinsider.com/googl...ntelligence-chatbot-2015-6?r=US#ixzz3eLX4VsKk That last line.
Actually watched Top Gear tonight. Very funny end to it all, albeit it bit weird to see it finish with just James May and Richard Hammond.
Two good films but nothing amazing, although Clarkson's "I hate working for Top Gear" line near the end made me laugh. A slightly underwhelming end but that was inevitable given the circumstances.

It took me a very long time before I understood why it was in there. About twenty seconds before the end, in fact. Vin
Oh dear, I still love The Who dearly, but Roger Daltrey really can't sing any more, it's a bit painful.
