Few fancies at the kura today. 2.15-Lieutenant General looks like AOB 3rd string but have been told it is a half decent animal and can place here at 12s so small Ew wager 3.55-I think Great Page should be the favourite here ahead of market leader Most Beautiful and score for Hannon team at 9/4. 4.30-Brooch 6/1 win.Unbeaten and form of run lto has worked out well and I fancy the Weld horse to make life very diffucult for the favourite 5.00-5f sprints are always tough to solve but I like the look of the English raider Discussiontofollow, took 9s early this morning and is now into 11/2 Will double Cenotaph/Forgotten Voice 7/2
Lovely performance from Sanus Per Aquam in the opener at the Curragh..traditionally a strong maiden event. The thoroughly odious Sheikh Mohammed already transferring the money for his latest purchase no doubt.
Flood of money for liet General there, nearly got up but I'll take Ew all the same.Donnacha was never gona win a had to had with old big ears in the last furlong
With the weather forecast for the week ahead being hyped in the usual British way as a “heatwave” (probably 23 degrees!), we can expect lots of small fields during the week at places like Bath, Brighton, Epsom, Haydock and Yarmouth plus the ‘summer jumping’ at Perth, Stratford and Worcester. A lack of rain will surely guarantee fast ground for the big meeting at Sandown next weekend. Sunday’s British cards make no appeal because of the small fields and lack of decent form, so punting options appear to be overseas. A high quality field goes to post for the Grand Prix de Saint Cloud (3:15), although it looks like there are a couple of pacemakers for the principals and Al Waab (beaten in Chantilly handicap latest), Feodora (well behind Treve last time) and Meleagros (winner of Longchamp Group 3 last time) appear to be making up the numbers. The unknown quantity in the race is Andre Fabre’s Manatee, the Godolphin colt stepping up in class to face arguably the three best older middle distance horses in France. He won the Grand Prix de Chantilly last time but finished behind Meleagros on seasonal debut. The presence of pacemakers greatly improves prospects for Flintshire but he has been behind Dolniya twice this term; and ultimately, both of them were behind Treve in last year’s Arc. Over at The Curragh, the Pretty Polly Stakes (4:30) look a lot more complicated than a straight match between the two Guineas winners. Pleascach was beaten in the Ribblesdale at Royal Ascot only ten days ago, so could this come too quickly? Legatissimo was touched off by 50/1 shot Qualify in the Oaks a little over three weeks ago but the winner ran like a sack of potatoes in the Irish Derby, hardly advertising the form. Secret Gesture is probably the best of the raiders, winning the Middleton Stakes last time with Ribbons behind in third. Unbeaten Group 2 winner BROOCH is stepping up to the top table, is clearly progressing well and can put her three-year-old rivals in their place.
Alert, alert Forgot to put up my ****er bet Ittirad 3/1 - 20 points Storm Of Swords 3/1- 20 points Apologies to all ****ers Obviously this one doesn't count ,
Noel Fehily is making a case IMO to be called the best jumps jockey in Britain. He has just given Shul Royale an absolute peach- creeping into it softly softly and I'm guessing that is a career best for a talented but quirky chaser. Very Ruby-esque and if I owned a jumps horse he would be the guy I'd want on.
She was well beaten in her prep run last year Shergs so I'd be inclined to see any win as a positive. Make no bones about it, she's being aimed for one race and one race alone. Anything else is a bonus
