First Fabian Delph - Just 5 months after signing a new contract for Villa it is understood that Manchester City are lining up a £10m move for the player. Apparently this is the figure required to trigure his release clause. Good news for Leeds United as we have a sell on clause of 25% meaning a possible 2.5M windfall. We were told to expect 4 more signings and one of them was going to be 'Fantastic', I guess it depends on what you class as Fantastic? Keeping a check on the rumours of who we are interested in, there is one player that has been mentioned more times than any other Birkir Bjarnason, a central midfield player who is also captain of his national team Iceland. It would seem our hopes of signing him are dead and buried after he agreed to join Torino for a fee of around £700k and he is due a medical with them next week. Chris Woods is another player that is gathering pace and surely being mentioned too many times for it to not be true?? Is 2.5M too much to pay, it is said Leicester want £4m and with interest from Fulham, Sheff W, Wolves and now QPR this is surely going to turn into a bidding war. £2m + is also the figure Birmingham are trying to extort for the signature of 31 year old Clayton Donaldson after we had a rumoured initial bid of £700k turned down, would either of these strikers be considered Fantastic? I don't think they are fantastic if I am honest, decent maybe but certainly not fantastic. I would have to agree with one journalist who believes a fantastic signing would be Left Back Alvaro Pereira. The same journalist also suggests Midfielder Brandon Barker on a season long loan would be "fantastic" but at 18 years of age do we not have our own promising youngsters in this position?
