Cheers mate, I would be in your debt forever. I know what Amy's friends mean. I made sure I caught her performance at the Pyramid in 2011 because I had a feeling it might be the last chance to see a legend, and she died about 3 weeks later. Fable doesn't seem to have any of Amy's issues, thank God, but as a tour de force she is right up there with her, Janis, Billie Holliday, and probably Grace Slick, to drop a still-living legend into the conversation.

As for Florence, I saw her show at the John Peel a few years ago which everyone raved about, and was left with a big "meh" in my head. Tonight has done nothing to shift that first impression.

You need to see her (Fable) do a good show - Bristol was okay...but nothing near what she can do.

Fortunately she doesn't have the same issues as Amy...but fame corrupts. She can be a handful sometimes, make no mistake, but no, not at that level!

Been worrying all week about the switchgear on the bike. The indicators, to be exact. MOT is coming up, so I finally had a look and decided to spray a bit of WD40 into the switch. I had not a jot of confidence in the idea, but that did it. No strip down, yippee.!

WD40 cured my MG of many ills. Not all of them though. RIP MGZT

The same Arnie who vetoed a bill allowing for same sex marriages in 2005? Methinks he's a bit of a bandwagoner.

Fantastic to see the bill passed, i honestly never thought the SCOTUS would approve of that. Now lets hope that Australia continues its proud tradition of copying the US and gets it passed here as well.

May have changed his mind? Australia will probably take another ten years to pass it.

Maybe, or it was political pressure back then, i doubt his fellow republicans would have supported him if he came out for gay marriage.

Australia is slow on the uptake with things like this but hopefully this will give them a nudge. I think theres talk of a bill before parliament some time this year, so lets cross our fingers and hope we can move on from the dark ages.

I always get a bit irrational come MOT time. Stupid really. Never had a problem except when I had a crappy old Suzuki 550dohc.

Your MG. Didn't that have a Rover 75 bodyshell.? Quite a nice vehicle. I have had three car loves in my life. Any others have been just runabouts. First one was a classic Austin Mini Mk I [Bit of a Q-Car]. Second was my SAAB Turbo 16, and the third was a Fiat Coupe 2L Turbo. Sadly, I didn't own the Fiat but looked after it while a Scottish mate [where are you Ken.?] spent a fair old time in Thailand and the Far East. Wonderful cars. Still not quite as good as bikes though. That's a different level altogether.

This will be his true feelings...unfortunately in America you can't get elected without vast sums of money and you can't afford to upset your sponsors. That's why the gun lobby are so powerful. And the weirder churches have a lot of votes.

Completely irrelevant, have you noticed in American films (in a modern setting) a religious character is usually portrayed as an RC priest or a nun when it isn't the dominant religion in the USA. You would assume you were in Ireland if you watch the average American thriller. As I said, irrelevant....as you were. :)

So do I LTL. You know that I am not a true music man, but when I met Chilco (saying that makes me feel like I'm name dropping :)) part of his description of Fable included the following line, "similar size and build as Kylie"... I'm in.

I am ashamed to admit my ignorance of US politics, however Each time I hear Obama speak, I hear the sound of a decent person with a seemingly good character. He seems to say things from the heart. Each time I hear a politician here speak, from any party in recent years, I hear Spin and someone speaking from the heart of their PR department.

I know that maybe naïve, but that's what I hear.
