Pre-flight checks and aircraft inspection is going to take on a new level of attention from now on, I'm thinking.

Series 3 is being played on Radio 4 Extra at the moment. Just use the Radio iPlayer and away you go:

Talking of Radio 4, Sandy Toksvig had her last show in charge of the News Quiz earlier. Not a dry seat in the house...

Check it out on the Radio iPlayer when it comes up, you won't be disappointed I promise.

Dry seat or dry eye Chilcs? Two very different responses in my experience!

Wet pants funny, I'm sure he means. :)
The News Quiz is still a tad better than its TV offspring.

Yes, I know how you could have been confused, given Ms Toksvig's persuasion, but everybody in the theatre..? I don't think so. :)

I wonder if their useless burning corpses could be used to heat people's homes?

Eyes and seats, I should have said. Another classic piece of Radio 4 at its best. Jeremy Hardy and Andy Hamilton were both on particularly good form.

One of my favourites on Radio 4 Extra at the moment is Gloomsbury, by Sue Limb, now being re-run in its 3rd series. I always found The Wordsmiths of Gorsemere great fun way back, because of the way Sue Limb got the characters and parody so close. She does it again with Gloomsbury, as it parodies the Bloomsbury set of the 1920's. Her leading characters are Vita Sackcloth-Vest [with thunderous bosom] and Henry Micklelson, living at Sizzlinghurst, aided and abetted by Ginny and Lionel Fox with Venus Traduces. DH Lollipop turns up very often and talks about the blood conciousness and loins. Vita is always trying to 'elope' with her female lovers [it was definitely a fee love era for them], often dresses as a man, and insists on being called sir by the servants. The cast is brilliant, as is the comedy. Pick out the famous names from this promo pic:

Excellent. I love how he got into the Gospel mode. Made a sad day into a celebration of life. So positive.

A very human politician. Can we have him over here when they're done with him?

They changed the rules for FDR, can't they change them for Obama?

I can imagine... I just can't bear the thought of some Tea Party dinosaur trying to trample everything Obama has done into the dust. And who are the Democrats going to run? Personally, I think Michelle Obama should have a shot.
