border control dogs, rescue dogs, dogs for the blind and many other types of working dogs provide an invaluable service for us, yet they ask for and get little in return. so should these caring canines be given a living wage? millions of dole scroungers cost us billions, yet what do they contribute? nothing. slobs that are oxygen stealers. just some of the work border control dogs do includes protecting us from drugs, illegal immigration and stopping dangerous meats and other eatables entering our food supply and devastating our agriculture industry. police dogs and rescue dogs perform other life saving duties. most are rewarded with treats. if they're lucky, they'll get their favorite toy. would you work a 50 plus hour week for such minimum rewards? i thought not. the PFPA (pounds for pooches association) are certainly pushing for this to happen and its gathering momentum all the time, and not a day too soon in my opinion. i'm not on about executive salary's, but at the bare minimum, a living wage ie the national minimum wage of £5.93 is the least these friendly, lovable yet devoted friends of ours deserve.
If you pay them, they'll have to pay taxes and then they'll be wanting the vote. Can you imagine some of the policies the politicians would bring in to appeal to the canine electorate? I say 'No'.
I get it - you work for Dogs trust and are trying to strum up interest with Daily Mail style propoganda??
