I was referring to the Bunnymen. On Television themselves if pressed I'd probably go for New Wave, but that brings up all sorts of memories of atrocious early 80s pap that I really wouldn't want to see them lumped in with. Too musical (and long) for punk, too punk for out and out rock, but brilliant and hugely influential on the best of subsequent 'alternative' rock
no worries mate , i don't like to get bogged down in genre defining , just Television was one of the most important pre punk era bands out there in my onion
