They would have eaten the dog, I tried it in soup once over there.

  4. I have no qualms with eating dogs - was it alright?

It seems peculiarly British to take your family to a "restaurant" to eat processed meat containing testicles and eyelashes and then be disgusted because another culture eats "cute" animals.

It wasn't bad at all and it's not as if they are killing their own pets and sticking them in a roll, they are bred to be killed and eaten. Although, they do tie the dog up while alive and beat it and then go at it with a blow torch, it makes it more tender seemingly.

Yeah, and the dogs are forced into tiny cages for days on end and brutally treated. They often have their teeth smashed out to stop them fighting with each other.

By all means eat meat but what goes on with dogs is simply brutality.

its not a lot different to say chickens in this country really. i have seen the process and the chickens are kept in nasty cramped spaces. loads die they just get picked up, put in buckets and sold as dog/cat food

when they reach slaughter houses they are often injured, half dead. during the stunning process they dont always get knocked out and are dunked in boiling water alive

we brits tend to pick on or ridicule foreign practices but ours are as bad or often worse

a dog there is like a lamb to us

    Twat parents = Twat kids
How are you supposed to blame a 10 year old for hurling bricks and petrol bombs? How are you supposed to blame a 13yr old for robbing grannies? How are you supposed to blame a
15yr old for stabbing another 15yr old in a gang related attack?

Bring up your kids on Macdonalds & Coke, use TV as a baby sitter, let them stay up through the night on a Playstation, don't know where they are at 10pm then you can't complain when junior ends up in the local youth offenders institution.

There is the off chance that what ever you do for your kids the little buggers will get a bit wayward but there is a difference between nicking a bag of sweets from the corner shop and lobbing molotov cocktails at the Police.

Rest assured that when "my wee little laddie" is hit in the face with a plastic bullet the mums and dads will have their faces plastered all over the TV blaming someone else.

And the media will launch a hate campaign against the Police officer who fired the shot. No one takes responsability for their own actions anymore. God I do sound old <doh>

One act of cruelty does not justify another act. And believe me, a lamb gets far better treated in this country than dogs do in Korea.

No, but they would rightly ask why such brutal summary justice is being meted out to children.

agreed about the cruelty bit. never been to korea so cant say the last bit is true or not.

i remember doing a bit of research on animal matters (due to bnp propaganda re halal slaughter when they were elected in stoke)
I was actually suprised at the results tbh

the shcultze study in 1978 in germany, and the 2005 study by the french ministry of food and agriculture actually found in favour of religious slaughter of animals and confirmed stunning as causing more pain.
the american temple gardin agrees with this, as did a vegan association (who are against all animal slaughter but think religious is least painful)

the farmers union who advocate stunning were seen as using the pain/humane issue purely for increased output. as more animals can be slaughtered if stunned.
although the stunning process is easier on the eye, its apparently more cruel

also watched that kill it, cut it, use it (something like that anyway) and they mentioned that the animal has to come round for proper bleeding to occur. kind of confirmed that stunning was to make it easier for the slaughter guys

    Daeyalikedaags?

I have a Labrador, he is like on of the family, that is, if a member of my family shagged a blanket all day and looked at you with big sad eyes as though they hadn't eaten for two years.

Dogs are good, but no wee daft yappy dogs that bloke keep in handbags.

No, but you sound like you are talking pretentious crap.

Where's Medro? Can't be annoyed looking through this thread. Medro knows an Orangeman who married a Catholic. He couldn't attend his own wedding. There's a joke in there somewhere.

anyway, I was just up at a match at celtic park. a stones throw (pun) from last nights action. I heard there were a few older ones directing operations, as seems to be the way of things.

non-GFA republicans seem to have a grip on the kids. they are trying to gain capital off the back of tensions elsewhere. there had been no bother all day.

I don't know the fella, one of my girlfriend's best friends is a catholic who's father and grandfather are Orangemen. Do you honestly believe that he is the only Orangeman out there married to a catholic?

All we've heard for years is complaints about kids sitting on their arses in front of play stations and never caring about the wider world, only being bothered about themselves etc. etc. Now some children go out at night to observe the difficulties facing their local environment and bond with their neghbours along with getting some strenuous exercise and the parents are branded scum. I despair - i really do.
