We stopped believing that any one player was irreplaceable. We lost the hope that surely some players are totally commited to the club and wouldn't leave us? We stopped being naive and understand that football is a business, but that actually, it's one Saints are rather good at, and it's ok.
I like this CF, however I stupidly still hold hope that some players may be totally committed to the club... I'm a football fan after all
I must admit to having a bit of an epiphany early this season, if you can have a bit of one, and about football. I always used to care very much about who played for Saints and who didn't. You'd think someone like Morgan would tear at the heart strings, but I'm amazingly indifferent. I'm so confident that Saints will do perfectly well without him that I almost know it. I have finally flushed away the residual elements of what it is to be a Saints fan of old. It's been going since the takeover, but now it's finally gone. Provided the right people are here, it doesn't matter who, we will get better and better, and the opposition had better watch out.
lol what a difference 3 years make. Stumbled across this looking for something else. Interesting reading with hindsight and the year we just had. Particularly like the bit where we forgot who was in the relegation fight
