He did indeed win the prestigous youngsters award, Won by our goalkeeper Jack Alnwick last season I think?
Remie was also the youngest ever player to get a deal with Addidas.

Not being funny like but I've been hearing about how promising Vuckic is for two years but haven't seen anything special while watching him play myself. I've heard many rave reviews from his peers/coaches etc so I hope this is true and not just hyperbole. He has to do something this season surely, really should be going out on loan.

Always been a fan of Vuckic but I've never really got the chance to see him shine in cup games or friendlies...
I have a feeling he will kick in late season kind of like Ferguson did last season.
He a really versatile player so he could do the job anywhere in midfield.

I'd really like to see Tamas Kadar breakthrough as well, he's always been a reliable defender but just lacked experience in the past. If he keeps fit I think he's go a decent chance of getting a few appearances this year.

As for the likes of Sammy Ameobi or Phil Airey, I think they will get games depending on the situation of Ranger.

Of what I've seen of him, I don't see Vuckic as being an outstanding player but with confidence, probably solid enough for the squad and certainly a better option than the likes of Smith.

I didn't say he's not going to improve, I just mean right now some people are talking like he's got a chance of starting ahead of the likes of Guthrie, Cabaye and Barton. Right now he's good, but I'm not pinning my hopes on him just yet, a lot of players who physically develop at an early age find themselves losing that advantage once they hit their 20s.

Id' play him ahead of Guthrie now all day long, but not the other two. Guthrie is shoite for me. With Vuckic you're not obliged to play him centrally either, he can cover the wings too, and play as a 2nd striker. I like him. I know he hasn't shown loads but there's something about him which makes me think he'll make it.

Disagree here Pouch-man. I mean I agree with what you've said about Vuckic but not Guthrie, I know he isn't top-quality or a world-beater by any means but IMO he's solid enough to be good cover for the likes of Barton/Tiote/Cabaye. Low wages, decent attitude(by the looks of it), english & still young. <ok>

I think we've discussed this previously Sanchino. I like his attitude, keeps his head down and causes very little trouble. Wages as you say are low. I just think midfielders like Guthrie have no use in the PL. He's just not an athlete for me, gives away far too many dangerous free kicks with his petty fouls, goes missing when the going gets tough, doesn't get about the pitch enough, and worst of all for me, for someone who has shown ability in the passing department, gives the ball away far too much. Possession is now key in the PL (one of the reasons I'm happy we've got more technical players on board), and Guthrie costs you a lot of possession. The PL teams kill you when you do. All just opinion of course!

Does anyone have NUFCtv? Vuckic just gave an interview, and it seems he is fully fit again.

I'd like to see him as direct back up for Ben Arfa, give him a real challenge. That is his preferred position after all.

i think adam campbell will be the superstar he is only 16- he is rather small but got good pace and finishing just needs to bulk up a bit, i saw him play for the eng u16s and i thought he was the best player on the pitch, I think he made his reserve team debut this year? for a 16 year old that is a fantastic achievement.

Have to agree with this. Thats why I approve of the Cabaye signing!
I think we have strong enough youth players to really go for it in the cup, let them play most of those games with a backbone of firstteamers..at least the early ones. Then they know they can go all out and I think players like Vuckic with really shine given those kinds of opportunites

In addition it keeps our key first team players fresh and injury free (and avoids the Tiote incident from last season) and its not like we arent used to not winning any cups if we do get knocked out!

I think we have some great young players waiting for the chance to step up; Fergie, Vuckic, Tavernier, Kadar and Airey most of all. Abeid must have also be bought with this in mind as well.

With the club seemingly investing heavily in the youth team development and scouting europe for the best talent, we have to give the youth a chance, otherwise why bother?

Looking forward to seeing a fair few of them get some chances this coming season. Especially Fergie, i'm really excited at the promise that guy has shown! :)

I think he might give Marveux a bit of a shock when he's challenging him for starts!

I think if Guthrie was given more regular game time the this aspect of his game would improve quite a lot. It's hard to get into a rythem when your only playing one game at a time

    I hope so :)

And that Kadar puts pressure on Willo, Tavernier on Simmo, Vuckic on the midfielders etc etc. But they have to be given the chance. They can't prove themselves sufficiently in the reserves. They have to get some chances. AP will have to be bold and we will have to support him in making these decisions.
