He has but that just makes me more pleased he is going. He is a good player that seemed to not care near the end of this season. He doesn't want to be here so has managed to get his move so we move on.
What makes me laugh is Liverpool are so determined to be us. Last year they weren't content with getting our players, they also wanted our league position. They almost got it I think next year they will be even closer to it. Please let Brenda stay for the whole season
Oh well never mind. He wasn't here long enough for me to care to be honest. RB is not a key position in my opinion and we seem to have to good replacement.
I probably should not expect honesty but I do. For Clyne to leave for a non-CL club shows he is not being honest to the people who pay him. He looses respect for that to me and I put in the #2 leaving category. Just tell us he wants to earn more and not make up stories like only move to CL club. Adios to him and thanks for the money.
Starting? Been out of his depth since the start. All hyped up. Must be a Swansea things as Martinez is the same.
It's not necessarily such a bad thing that Clyne settled for less than Champion's League. What if no CL club came in for him... or what if they only offered 8m? He only has one year on his contract. My feeling has always been that he wouldn't overly mind playing it out and then maybe draw higher wages. That might not be the best thing for us, however. I thought we should have held out for 15m, but if Koeman feels like we have a winner in Soares and just wants to move on that is understandable as well. There may have been a compromise reached where Clyne agreed to forgo his loyalty bonus and perhaps Soares is on a much cheaper deal than the one we offered to Clyne so the difference between 12.5 and 15 is minimal. Especially since Crystal Palace doesn't get a 20% cut of the loyalty bonus/salary savings. I understand why Clyne did it. There's no guarantee he doesn't get hurt, or the CL clubs pick up RB's elsewhere and he ends up not getting the big pay rise he hopes for if he sticks around another year. If Liverpool's offering him a decent deal, AND let's face it they are a bigger club and most would still pick them to finish above us next year, plus he knows many of the players there... it's really not a bad move for him. We get some 12.5m or thereabouts, Clyne gets a raise. It may not be win-win but at least it's a decent compromise. Cork was in the same situation and he left and people wished him well. And IMO, we ended up getting ripped off more on Cork than Clyne. I'll let the club decide. If he gets a nice message on the OS thanking him for his services and wishing him the best when he leaves I'll assume that he wasn't a jerk about it and they are okay with it. And if they are okay with it, so am I.
Carragher claiming on Twitter that he told Clyne to go to Liverpool after a live game at St Mary's earlier this season. If I was Saints, I'd stop him at the gate the next time Sky come to St Mary's and refuse him entry.
Seems like a good time for a little limerick... There is a sh!t team all in red With a man called Brenda at head But the team he likes most Play on the south coast Now he wishes he joined them instead! Wahey!... Can anyone beat that?!
Seriously though, at what point will our club begin to feel disrespected? Because I, as a bloody fan do. Why can't we just say, no more dealings with Liverpool, for the sake of upsetting the fanbase? Imagine if they were to suddenly put in a bid for Mane. We'd end up on the same ****ing path. AGAIN. Getting so sick of it.
There was a strange poster called Susan With jokes that would have you a snooz'in One day she was Black Then the Vodka came back And now he only drinks when we're los'in
I suppose businessmen have to be pragmatic and don't feel insulted if enough money is thrown at them. They care for the club, but it isn't the life-long love affair it is for fans. I think fans running the club would have bankrupted us years ago. For any player who wants away, there is a price that is acceptable if we are to replace him. The board has longer term thinking that we do...make us a rich, successful club and our day will come. Last season, the sticking point was Morgan...they obviously feel that this season (if the price is right) we are ready to move on. Les and Ron will have a list of players they won't let go....Mane will be on that as he is a diamond in the rough...wait till he truly sparkles, then we will be fighting them off with sharp sticks.
