OK a different topic! it's about - jazz music ...JAZZ yes I appreciate that's it's not everyone's cup of tea, but if you were inclined to hoy a tune into the melting pot which tune would you choose?

for me this one tune is the epitome of 'jazz music' it's laid back and has some of my favourite musicians playing

Has Vince hacked your account Diddles? <bubbly>

One of the most spontaneous nights of my life was meeting up with an old mate and driving 160 miles to go watch Courtney Pine. I had no interest in Jazz or brass instruments at all but when I got there and had a few ciders it was one of the best nights I ever had.

The Jazz scene is huge in Vancouver by the way, there's a ton of jazz bars open mic stuff and professionals - think we went to about 20 different venues, the place to be for Jazz so it seems!

Never been a fan of jazz but the Tufnell Park Tavern used to be a great pub for jazz years ago. Might still be. You never knew who would turn up. Saw Acker Bilk ability there.

My wife and I called into the Jazz Bar on Chambers St in Edinburgh and listened to 2 and a half hours of guys tuning their instruments! ****ing weird music.

I guess I just like to hear a tune of sorts when I'm listening to music.

Edit: as racist as the early days clearly were, I love the music of the early Cotton Club days. Cab Callaway, Fats Waller, Duke Ellington...

No mate I went to see him in Coventry I think, or Milton Keynes, somewhere incredibly dull, it was an outdoor event in a tent in summer.

There were some world class musicians in Vancouver mate but I couldn't tell you who they were as I wasn't at all into it. I appreciated it though, the venues made all the difference always very intimate and underground if you know what I mean.
