He was okay, luckily he's made of stern stuff. But some of those challenges were ****ing awful. Uruguay are a nasty little team and at one point it looked as though it was really going to kick off when their subs and staff from the bench all started jostling the ref and his officials.
The guy got the ball clean, I (and I suspect you) would be pissed if that was given against one of our players.
He came in from behind and took Sanchez out, so it doesn't matter if he got the ball. It was a yellow card in any league in the world.
Clyne to Saints for £12.5m. Good deal but kind of makes a mockery of Brendan's quality over quantity bullcr*p considering this will be his 6th signing of the window to date!
I know what you mean, on it's own this is a very good (or at least possibly a very good) signing, but when you look at the rest, especially Ings - when they needed a big name/quality upfront, in the centre midfield/deep lying playmaker to replace Gerrard, and a commanding CB, they've signed a load of youngsters, and players who look nowhere near Top6 quality.
I did wonder if calling them Saints was ironic, given their increasing reliance on us as a feeder club.
Weeeell, in fairness we swiped Theodore, AOC and Chambers in recent years so can't be too judgemental. Never stooped to Lovren or Lambert levels though .
Who's watching the Copa America final ? Link here if you need ? http://vipbox.biz/soccer/watch-1j8od-chile-vs-argentina
Less than one month until we start again, if you count the Community Shield, and Sanchez is still playing and hasn't gotten a break! We should be giving him 4 weeks off starting from Monday, which means he will be back by August 3rd, just a week before the league begins.
Sanchez has now also won the Copa America, he scored the last penalty to win it, and what a cheeky penalty it was. Not a bad season, Fa Cup and Copa America winner.
Wales are now 10th in the FIFA rankings, this is because Chile did not win tonight's game in normal time.In 2011 we were ranked 117th
