Ok, well we have our Goalie, Antti Niemi, it's time to pick your best RB.
I'm restricted to 10 selections, so apologies if your favourite is not included, I have carefully chosen the players with over 50 appearances and played during our most successful periods.
You can vote for your favourite by naming him in the thread (if not in the poll) and I will count them all at the end.

Of the list of players there it has to be Ivan Golac. He was a sign of the future, the truly attacking FB. For me, he qualifies as a proper great player, not just a great player for Southampton. Lawrie tells some excellent stories about Ivan. If we are talking about traditional defensive RBs then Mick Mills takes some beating. But for me it's Golac.

Where's the option for Jermaine Wright? I don't think I've ever seen such an accomplished right back.

Went for Doddy - half of me wanted to go for Golac, but it would've been a vote on reputation alone, as he was just slightly before my time.

I'll vote Clyne if he doesn't **** off. Otherwise it's got to be Dodd.

Interesting, I see Stuart Williams made their shortlist, over 150 appearances and 43 Welsh caps and I completely overlooked him.

Steve Mills would have been a great if not badly injured but has to be Ivan for me. Class and a great charachter.

    Opted for Golac.

Never saw him play, but he coached me once during one of those half term football courses and he was awesome in his early fifties!
I went against my seeing them play rule because I preferred Kenna to Dodd and I just don't feel that strongly about him as a player.

Where as TSS put in a great case for Ivan and he was one of dad's favourites.
Plus there was that goal he scored. Thunderbolt

Yes, very sad Lamby, I never saw too much of him but my older brother said he was a great player, fast and strong in the tackle.
His legacy is the Stem Cell Laboratory at Southampton General Hospital that bears his name after being set up with funds from his charity.

Clyne is the best right back I've seen in my time supporting Saints, Ostlund probably my favourite but he is not on the list so gone for Clyne
