Doesn't surprise me. I got a post removed for using the word "barcodes" once. I had another mentioning a fact, such as them smashing up their own city. I complained via email, then all my posts got removed, all night long, no matter what I said. They had too much power & free reign. It wouldn't surprise me that the bloke who read my complaint email, was the same bloke who'd removed the post. I've been battling pre-mod for two years just for complaining about them. They just refused to do anything about it. **** 'em all. I'm happier here.

If I'm honest, I hadn't heard the pre 1600's story (which in fairness was a decent read), all I knew about from the article already was the reasons for the names and that you lot felt inferior!!

As for the history, I know a lot of the lads on our board know it, as it's often quoted/referred to during the endless and fairly tedious 'big club debate'...It's an interesting one, I'd quite like to know why (despite you winning the civil war) there definitely is, as the article suggests, a leaning towards Tyneside? Private investment or preferable real estate perhaps? The 5:1 will continue for at least the rest of the season and let's be honest, 99% of your fans would be doing the same had the shoe been on the other foot! I know during the run up to this season's 2nd T/W derby, a lot of your lot were shown on Look North talking about the 2:1 reversal against us...Similar, if not quite as emphatic! Either way, decent article...The 606 mods are power mad tools, but more importantly, they're now IRRELEVANT power mad tools!
JESUS' dont know any answers, but just love history, if you read the article, with open mind, it slags off the people of SUNDERLAND as much as the NEWCASTLE folks, but a very well written article, somethings you only learn by chance, am seeking further,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,thats all I can say for now.
Really good article and a good read, even if it does show that we lost the first ever derby No idea why anything in that could get blocked. Shows how pathetic the mods on 606 were. I once posted an article that quoted a story from the future in time traveller's times (obviously made up). It was pulled for breaching copyright!! Back to your article, I love reading about history and learning this stuff. It also shows anyone else who says that it isnt a real derby cos we're not in the same city, just how wrong they are! And as for why Its Newcastle perceived as the dominant city despite losing the civil war - might it be cos ultimately the royalists got back in and the republicans were beaten? Not A WUM question - genuinely wondering. Anyway, cheers for a good article. I'm at least one mag who enjoyed reading it
They are priceless the Mods man. I once had something pulled which was a direct quotation from one of the newspapers complete with the quotation marks. Free speech and debate. What a laugh! They deleted one of mine for referring to Bent as a 'liar" last week anarl.
