I sense that some of you find my prediction (that Chelsea will struggle to stay in the top 4 next season) somewhat amusing. I don't blame any of you, at all. No one is going to undermine or talk-down their own team's chances in the league. But I do find it rather amusing that you are trying to buy Moddy at a knock-down price, rather than put big-money offers down on truly world class attacking midfielders. I rather sense that the Russian has blown his wad (if you'll forgive the phrase) on what he paid for Torres last season, and with the massive wages bill that your club is carrying. Don't tell me you're not worried, especially with Grandpa Lumpard the powerhouse at the centre of your midfield? I can understand why there is a need for some of you to keep alive the fantasy that you'll manage to get your hands on our Moddy.
You have such a snidey tone it is unbelievable...even what you post is just wummery, unlike the rest of the spurs fans who have been on here. Anyway...I think you'll find that there is a level that a player is worth, and Modric isn't really worth much more than £30m in real terms. If Roman thought he was worth it he would have blitzed you already with ridiculous figures, he's not shy as you well know...then I wouldn't be if I had £7 billion at my disposal. I would say job done anyway, Modric is unsettled, your fans are up in arms and hate him and you'll sell him sooner rather than later, and if it's not to us then who cares really. I also noted that the season that you qualified for the CL your fans payer of the year was Dawson, and in fact Modric *only won it last year...he can't be that close to your heart really only having won it once....you're just pissed because it us *edit
Bearing in mind it's pretty common knowledge we bid big money for Neymar kinda blows your whole point out of the water. Let us worry about buying stars and you worry about keeping yours. Channel 5.
I think it's hilarious that people think that £27 million is a knock down price. Barca paid about £30 million for Villa and he's probably the best finisher in world football. Modric is good but would he even get into the top ten midfielders in the world? The question is if your haggling for something you wish to buy do you try and pay the least you can?
