Are you saying that the Mirror are wrong and Pochettinho hasn't made Lloris and Kane captain and vice captain ?
I'm saying I haven't read it. I try to maintain dignity. Couldn't care less about who spurs have made captain
Presuming the Mirror are right then, could it be a desperate last attempt to try and prevent Lloris and Kane from leaving ?
Lloris was often our Captain on the field last year. Club Captain is Younes Kaboul with Lloris one of the vice Captains. Given Kaboul no longer has a future with us, then Lloris is natural choice. Nobody thinks being made Captain would sway his decision to leave if that is what he wants.
As for Kane, he is one of the most vocal and positive players on the pitch. He can fill in very well if Lloris isn't playing.
I think Kane will stay (for this season) but I'm not so sure about Lloris. Especially if De Gea goes to Real, then it could start a GK merry-go-round. I'm just happy it looks like we've got Cech

Mourinho is quoted as saying he didn't want to sell Cech at all, he still rates him as one of his best players. As I said, it was Abramovich who gave the green light and did indeed overrule his manager : In the eyes of the Chelsea manager, Arsenal should never have been an option. The final decision essentially came down to Abramovich, who took advice from Mourinho, the chairman Bruce Buck and the directors Marina Granovskaia and Eugene Tenenbaum. At the start of this month, Mourinho was told that Cech would be rewarded for 11 years of outstanding service and consummate professionalism with the right to pick his next club, whether it be in England or abroad - effectively deeming him a special case. http://www.msn.com/en-gb/sport/othe...arsenal-thanks-to-roman-abramovich/ar-AAbYb8G
I discussed this with my Chelsea mate, yesterday. He's not bothered that Cech is going, and even welomes it. He told me that the games he saw Cech play, last season, he ****ed up in. He pointed, particularly, to Cech's increasing inabuility to save balls fired in at the top corners of the goal. I didn't take that degree of interest in him, so I cannot say if that is a fair criticism or not. What I am certain of, however, is that neither The Smug One nor Mad Dog would even consider letting Cech join Arsenal if they genuinely believed he was going to make Arsenal a stronger team.
Well like you, your Chelsea master knows **** all too the 33-year-old proved how vital he remained to Chelsea and Mourinho last season. His display in the 1-0 win against Everton in February was one of the best goalkeeping displays of the season and helped Chelsea secure the result that many felt effectively secured the Premier League title. Once the title had been wrapped up, Mourinho said: "Without Petr this season, I don't think the club would be champions because he played important matches in the Premier League. Without these points, we probably wouldn't be champions." He was right.
You're biased, PISKIE. I'm not. You want Cecch to be a good signing, and I'm sure he's a better option than what you currently have. But let's not pretend that you've pulled one over on the Chavs. If Cech had any thing more to give Chelsea they would not have let him go. It really is that simple.
You are once again proving that you know **** all. Read the quote again, who is it from ? It's not my bias, it's his manager saying that without him they wouldn't have won the title. Maureen didn't want to sell him. Abramovich gave the green light because he'd given him his word that he could leave and join the club of his choice. You're just upset because your new team have sold one of their best players to us
Bournemouth seem to be doing a lot of good business, nice and early as well. Mings will be a great signing for them I reckon.
You're quoting a journalist. Mourinho talked Cech up, as that's what he does. If he was genuinely worried by the move, then it wouldn't happen. If Mourinho said that he was utter **** and over the hill, would that influence your opinion? If not, then why is his praise remotely relevant? I'm not saying that he's right, but I judge people by their actions and not their words. Chelsea dont improve their rivals intentionally.
Your 'mate' was talking out of his chocolate starfish, as he kept 8 clean sheets in 16 appearances last season for Chelsea.
Mourinho didn't want to sell Cech and most people in football can see why, he is still one of the best in the premier league. It was Abramovich who overruled him according to reports and I think this action will be judged as a mistake on Chelsea's behalf.
