It didn't really go to plan at all.

We spent £7-8m on Snodgrass who got a season ending injury forty minutes into the first game and that sort of set the tone for the season.

We easily had enough good players to stay up and if we'd have kept them out the treatment room, we probably would have done.

    C'est la vie.

I don't think the FL will touch this one, he was acquitted of customs violations which is the more serious allegation.

I suspect Cellino and the FL have had a few words last season just before he agreed to stand down as boss.

Cellino still has his case against the FL pending.

I also think Steve Bruce is good enough to keep you in the prem for a season or two but not good enough to push a team on from there, so eventually any team he stays at has the major threat of relegation, it'll happen with him as the manager at some point in time.

With Cellino running the show it is impossible to say what is going on..... A wild guess is that Pearson was brought here to help sell the club. But if things start to go well Cellinos ego doesnt sell. Then we will have more hisrionics when it goes belly up again... We wont progress under this clown...

Tax evasion is less serious than customs violations ?
Still guilty of a dishonest act and will be banned for another year (and rightly so)
The next case (Due in October) will be adjourned till next year, and probably be heard shortly after this one becomes spent - no way will the FL go easy on him - he's a crook and should not be in charge of a Football Club (no matter how small they are) <ok>

Afternoon all. Finally got access to the site, as the Office computer doesn't like the set-up of the new NOT. Anyway, without Elland to post a sensible morning thread, we have to suffer cr&p from GLORY. Sorry mate, but you really are full of sh!t.

On Byram, think anyone who wants him can start bidding at £6m + add ons. He's got age & a sell on value on his side, & he will only get better.

No can do Chippy unfortunately. Office computer won't allow me, & no one will wait until the afternoon for me to start a thread.

On Cellino, all I can say is that you don't get to be a successful businessman without learning from your mistakes. That he made a few in his first season in charge at Leeds isn't really in dispute. That appointing Rosler is an improvement on who he appointed early last season may be proven, but only time will tell. I'm still prepared to believe that under Cellino we will progress. But let's have this discussion in 6 months time

    Let's discuss it now.
How do you define successful businessman?
Convictions left right and centre, and inherited the family firm and it is less than half the size it was when he got it,
Caligari football club turned from serie A team to Serie B laughing stock playing in a hollowed stadium that used to hold 60000 and now holds 5000. I would hate see failure if that's success.

Whatever you say, he can't be all that bad. He clearly has funds, and in Rosler & the new backroom staff, he should now have people to advise and guide him. Time will tell as to how we'll do. But if we can keep hold of all the kids and bring in a few with championship/PL experience, who knows. Even you might have to give him some credit.

I would put money on Cellino being banned again, this from the BBC website...

Leeds owner Massimo Cellino has been fined 40,000 euros (£28,500) after being found guilty of tax evasion by an Italian court.

The 58-year-old was convicted of failing to pay VAT on a Range Rover imported from the United States.

Cellino only returned to the Leeds board last month after serving a four-month Football League ban for failing to pay import duty on a yacht.

The League is yet to comment on whether Cellino could face further action. It is believed the League is waiting for official confirmation of the court's ruling before deciding whether to act.

"However, I understand that Cellino, along with others, has to appear in court on 14 September regarding an investigation into the construction of the IS Arenas stadium in Cagliari.

"Those charges include corruption, attempted corruption, unauthorised construction and non-compliance with a public authority order.

Evening all, been away in Scotland for a wedding last weekend. Has Bamba signed?? I don't think the controversy around the club will ever go until he sells up with the mounting court cases and it's not like his legal team have a great track record of success.

Like some, I thought the new back room team meant there was about to be a takeover. Knowing Cellino it might have been close only for him to tear up the contract.

Bamba has signed four more times since you went away, according to Pearson he will sign three more times this week and then do a big signing at the weekend (for someone else).

You've got to wonder what useless **** of an accountant advises him on Italian tax law. At the rate his going his lawyers will be worth more than him by 2017.
