I'd really prefer to keep both. Perez is awesome but just needs to play in a role behind the striker, rather than the main striker.

Cisse might be a bit injury prone but his starts to game ratio is generally good, and last year it was one of the best.

He's not a 20 goals a season striker, but he can play his part if given the right opportunity and service.

He also seems to score at the right times, he doesn't just score a hat trick and then disappear, he scores last minute winners, and that's invaluable. It's worth more than 10 million. Unless we get 2 good strikers, I say keep him.

Slightly alarming that we seem presently more likely to sell our only striker than buy any new ones.

Perez I agree with but Cisse I think we can live without, as long as we get another one in.
    The dream team frontline is:

    Austin
    Dost
    Perez
    Armstrong

If we can move on Cisse and maybe Riviere then the above would represent a decent forward line next year IMHO.

I would rather keep both but if I had to choose one it would be Perez. He works much harder for the team, has much more individual skill and is a lot quicker. Only thing Cisse does better is scoring. Does seem to have a very high ratio of goals to chances which is something we need until we get a better midfield creator.

Armstrong has to go out on loan to the Championship.

To me, we need to keep Cisse and Perez and add 2 more strikers. At least one in the mould of a Charlie Austin or a Bas Dost. The options these 3 would give us would be immense!

However, talk of strikers are still pointless at this moment as we have no one who can create chances!

Something Pardew said that I actually agreed with - his opinion was that our defence was under constant pressure because of our inability to keep the ball up the field. We then bought no strikers and Cabella....not very joined up, Lee/Graham. Snide comments aside, I think Pardew had a real point and Cisse is one of the worst around for conceding possession cheaply. You need someone where the ball can stick which is where Austin does have some ability. As does Dost. Not to encourage a long ball, but just to give an option, particularly when you're a mid-table side. Look around the other clubs, they all have one someone who can do that job - Crouch, Gomis, Pelle, Benteke, Murray. They aren't game changers or world beaters, they're defence-relievers. We haven't had one for years. Carroll was a prime example and was a reason why we got so much money and why we enjoyed success. Ba was ok-ish at it, he would keep the ball, and it's vital in the PL. Remy another.

It's really not rocket science, but again it makes you wonder what Carr in particular was doing. We were putting in offers for Aubameyang who just doesn't do this kind of job. People see these players as the ones sticking their nut on it in the box, so would struggle with service. It's about so much more than that. Cisse for me is one who thrives on service, so if our problem is service is low, Cisse's a liability.

I think we need to consider not necessarily having four strikers, but having two No.9's, two No.10's and a young 'un as backup in both areas. We've got young covered in Heardman (9) and Arma (10) who may both need loans, and arguably have 2 No.10's already in SDJ and Perez. It's the 9's we don't have. Sell Cisse, bring in Austin and Dost (or similar players) and we'll be doing ok. Then, as has been said, we really need to work on the creativity, depending on formation.

I don't mind long balls as long as we have a target man up front. Long balls to Cisse and for christ sake Perez sometimes was just stupid.

It only works if you have someone like Carroll or Dost to make it threatening.

Armstrong needs a season long loan, either Championship or League 1 but it has to be somewhere that he'll get some proper game time.

I think Cisse will go and it's a good decision. We're simply not a good enough to side to operate with a striker who is a poacher but nothing else. He doesn't run with the ball, hold it up, create chances for others, he simply sticks the ball in the back of the net and if he doesn't do that he's normally our worst player.

Perez will thrive under McClaren. It'll be interest to see who we bring in. I'd much rather we brought in a quality CB than a striker though if it was a choice between the two.

If we could get a playermaker or two he could be good. If he can score 11 goals in 19 games for a team with **** all, creative wise, think what he could do with a decent player maker in the side?

Even if he is only a goalscorer, those figures don't lie. That goals to games ratio is too good.

Cisse is a worthy member of the squad if not a 1st choice, and scores valuable goals, not just a hat trick against a **** side.

    Austin Mitrovic Wilson Ayoze

Armstrong could do with some first team experience in the championship.

I can see deja Vu coming our way with NO signings until we sell. Fatty has no intention of funding McClaren leaving the incoming money from the like of Krul. Tiote, Sissoko and hopefully Riviere available to him.

This, Cisse has done a good job and will score us 12-15 goals a season! Why would they not look to get rid of Riviere?

Maybe the idea with Riv is to give him a go in the cups to see if he can raise his value before hawking him in January?

Riviere deserves more of a chance IMO. His confidence in front of goal needs improving, but the goal vs QPR seemed to improve him, as he was great against WHU apart from that chance he missed.
