He could always shun Cheshire for the bright lights of downtown Manchester. What's not to like, eh? You never know though, he might just fancy a change of environment for a while. It's not unheard of. He's got the rest of his life to live in Madrid. I always assumed he was being bought to play on the right and we'd also get a centre half. Or am I setting the bar a bit too high there?!?
But if that was the main criteria for deciding who to play for, Liverpool would never sign any half decent players. Hmmm...actually you may be on to something there
As for his wages, he's reported as getting 4.5-5 million euros per year at Real. When you consider that's how much we pay Jonny Evans, and about a quarter less than Valencia gets, it's a fair bet he could get a big chunk more at Utd.
According to the Daily Fail we're going to swap De Gea for the Real Madrid first team - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ic-thwart-David-Gea-s-expected-departure.html Bloody papers are pathetic, it gets worse each transfer window.
Fck me there's not much quality out there. DM's, CB's, FB's. Fck all except the same merry-go-round of names.
I hate Ramos but he will have a huge impact on our defence. The reason I hate him is because hes a dirty bastard and a serial winner. We have far to many nice guys in the side so adding someone who wouldnt allow anyone to walk over him can only be good. Its like van Persie (minus the serial winner but im his goon days). Of course thats if we sign him. Hes got 19 red cards top Keane had 7 for comparison.
If a) he plays RB or b) is paired with Hummels as a CB pairing THEN he will be part of what we need this summer. On his own he won't mean much in that back 4 tbh.
Eh? Of course he will. He plays to win. Hes unlikely to back out of any challenge (both tackles and battles with opponents) and is better than any of our current CBs bar Smalling (potentially). If nothing else he would add leadership. Something the defence seriously lacks. And theres absolutely no chance of him playing rb. If he comes, it will be as a centreback. If thats alongside Hummels then great but I think he would also be great alongside Smalling. Hes not the only option obviously, by all accounts, Otamendi is a similar kind of defender too. Someone with a bit of backbone and bite, never overawed. Plus getting Ramos of Madrid is a hell of a statement. Hes a top dog at Madrid and not one surplus to requirements. Imagine signing him and then keeping De Gea...
