Kick-off: 22:00 BST Venue: Lansdowne Stadium, Ottawa. Coverage: Live on BBC Three, BBC Sport website, including text commentary, and BBC Radio 5 live. Catch-up via BBC iPlayer. England forward Eniola Aluko is writing a regular column for the BBC Sport website throughout the Women's World Cup. Here she reflects on a case of mistaken identity, being dropped for the final group game and penalty strategies for Monday's last-16 tie with Norway. Now we have reached the knockout stages of the World Cup the pressure has obviously increased so it's important to switch off and have fun at the right times. Unfortunately, it has been me who has been providing the laughs recently thanks to our disciplinary representatives in the England squad - otherwise known as defender Laura Bassett and midfielder Jade Moore. They are in charge when it comes to dishing out the forfeits if anyone does something ridiculous in a game or during camp. But we aren't talking minor punishments like singing a song. Their rulings can be harsh. My case came in our opening game against France. As I ran off the pitch at half-time I accidentally high-fived the France coach Philippe Bergeroo, thinking it was our head coach Mark Sampson. please log in to view this image After playing the first two games, Aluko was dropped for the final group game I was in my own world and wasn't looking but by the time I glanced up and realised it wasn't Mark I was already high-fiving the wrong man. He looked at me like I had 10 heads! This was right up Laura and Jade's street so they decided that I had to spend the next 24 hours high-fiving everyone I saw. That included all the hotel staff in Moncton, who must have got a bit bored of it by the end. It was so embarrassing. To be honest, I actually thought it was going to be worse than that so maybe I got away with one. I thought I was going to have to speak in a French accent for 24 hours, which would have been hilarious for my team-mates, but I still reckon I high-fived about 40 or 50 different people.
My wife, who helped to complile age lists on here, tells me that Joanna is the oldest female on here and will reach 78 next month. She is the second oldest member following a guy who was 83 last March.
So was this...but he obviously don't know how to spell ! And this young lass did a commendable cover..
Mixed feelings on this one...but at least one will make it. I think the result could go either way, both teams are hit and miss (unpredictable even within the same 90 minutes). I have a feeling the Canucks , with home advantage, may well take this one. Hope you manage to get to the game ( Canada-England that is).
Think you are confusing me with charles stokell TC! I must have confused you in Post No.83 where I have now clarified that the female age reference was to Joanna.
Apologies sir, and to Mrs B_M_B, to Joanna & Charles. I may well have confused myself. Somewhere I have a copy of Mrs B_M_B's list of forum members' ages (from a couple of years back maybe ?). I'm clearly a disgrace to those members in their very late 60's !! Just as I was typing this, Abby Wambach missed a penalty. She must be in her 90's by now, but Morgan saved her blushes a couple of mins later.
The last list posted on here by my wife was done in April 2013 and listed about 180 member ages. You are now in your 70th year and sit equal 10th behind charles stokell.
List as at 01/04/13 given to me shows your age as 49. So you have had your 53rd birthday. What is your birth month?
It was a joke, I'm 51 as the list would suggest. I see this morning that the funding for the England Women's team is the highest in Europe, over double the spend on the German team. And since when were they referred to as the Lionesses?
I was actually born in 1936, so I will be 79 next month! Anticipating lots of pressies from all you cheeky blokes. Only joking!! Hope I live to be 80 and see City back in the Premier League.
Thanks for that. Have quite a few Bob Dylan discs, but have not come across that song before. I'll have to buy it. Thanks again.
That high-five gaffe by Aluko is pretty funny, I remember doing something similar when my mate sent me out to get something from a petrol station and I got back in the car, only it wasn't his car and the guy drove off too!
