Financially it's a fantastic deal for someone who's been a failure in the PL and who doesn't want to play for us.
Hardly describe ince as a failure in the premier league to be fair he hasn't had much of a go , I'm more in the idea of thinking we should be looking to keep ince , twenty goals a season players are hard to find and it looks like we're about to let one go for peanuts to who I might add are a serious rival for promotion.
He said he wanted to return to Derby late last season, pretty much the same thing. Whether or not it's the correct decision is difficult to tell right now but we'll know more 1st September. Personally I'm reserving judgement on all matters until then.
Well for what it's worth Id keep him, he's proven and can score goals at this level. His goals could help get us promoted which would be worth more than the £4.75m from Derby. He may walk away on a freebie but we are going to take a bigger hit on jelavic and Hernandez this season
I agree in keeping him. He's proven at this level and if he can bag 15-20 goals (Which history suggests he is more than capable of) then we have saved ourselves a sizeable transfer fee.
Exactly. We should play him up front, with someone in the ilk of Rhodes (not him necessarily) as his foil.
Which is possible the last time we had a player/midfielder that could score that amount of goals was.....er.....errrr..... And people want to sell him and spend 12million on Rhodes who's goal return would be similar. I want us to sign Rhodes but selling ince would be crackers imo. There's no point in selling ince and replacing his goals with Rhodes and paying him double what ince is on
But like many before him, we'll foolishly let him go. I am just staggered that the club let him go with this stupid clause in his contract for £4.75m. I mean, imagine him going there and playing really well and getting 11 goals in 18 games. Can you imagine the value of a player with that goals to games ratio being less than £8m? I can see why Derby want to sign him, they see City as being run by simpletons.
Scoring the goals he has next season and the fact he's English which alone is worth 7-8million Derby would want double figures for him
It's not acceptable in my opinion, unless we can buy a midfielder that can score 15-20 goals for us for £4.75m or less. Our track record proves we carnt buy a striker to do that never mind an English midfielder
