I'm holding fire until it's on Arsenal.com but if we pull this off then it will be a massive scoop along the lines of RVP going to Utd (albeit it with Cech giving us more years than old man Persie) Cech is a world class keeper and the racist chav captain has already said that he will give Arsenal an extra 12-15 points per season. Not only that, but it will reverse the trend in recent years of our best players going to our rivals, with the situation flipped on it's head.
Its a relief that we've finally changed things and going back to a normal Arsenal, without all the restrictions. Cech is a big statement to make, especially a player still in his prime and from Maureen. This will p1ss him off. Good.
One of the spuds on here was trying to claim that Maureen has only let Cech join Arsenal as he doesn't see us as a threat. That's wishful thinking at best. Especially after the chav captain has said that Cech will give Arsenal an extra 15pts per season
Top class signing when it happens. But come now... It's not like we're poaching top talent from other top clubs now as some of you are making out. He's a player who isn't needed or wanted by Chelsea as they have someone better, wants to leave Chelsea but also wants to remain living in London. Easy signing in the bag.
You are right and we can say the same about Sanchez (when Barca signed Suarez) and Ozil (when RM signed Bale) however it also means we have bought 3 WC players in 3 season in Essential positions. I agree we are not at the level where we cab take the best players from big clubs either financially or with promises of Glory. I however choose to see this has a wholesale shift in our transfer policy where we are wiling to spend big money on WC players who are available coupled with our need to no longer get rid of our main players it is a tremendous step forward. I for one am ****ing delighted. Also its on BBC - short of being on Arsenal.com that is always the biggest indicator that it is a done deal.
If it goes through, this could be the best deal we have done in ages. Cech is still a class act and we have needed a keeper like him for ****ing ages, he is also a leader and we need an experienced player like him to organise our defence. Ospina never had the talent to become a top keeper and Chensey might have the talent, but he is also a prize twat and has the wrong attutide. Sell Ospina and hopefully Chensey stays and learns a thing or two from Cech about how to be a top keeper.
Chesney is the better keeper out of him and Ospina and I think Wenger knows that, which is why he's stuck by him. Ches is still young and hopefully can balance that cocky streak (which most keepers need) with knuckling down and improving. Nobody better to learn from than Cech, who has been there and won it all. Perfect competition for Ches really and should help him push on. Can't help feeling a bit sorry for Ospina though as he had a decent season, but I'm glad there's no sentiment from Wenger on this one. Replacing Ospina with Cech is a no brainer.

Looks like this could be wrapped up fairly soon. Irrespective of the circumstances of why he's being sold to us, he would be a more than welcome addition to our side and, along with a couple of other signings, we could be one of the favourites for the title for the first time in ages.
Someone else also said this - I've explained before why this logic is ****ing stupid. First of all, we've won back-to-back FA cups after going a previous 9 years without winning a single piece of silverware. Secondly, we've added the likes of Ozil and Alexis Sanchez to our club - this has reversed the trend we had previously where we sold our top players for whatever reason. Thirdly, we have much more depth than we have had in previous seasons gone by. Fair enough we still need to add more necessary additions to the squad for depth rather than a few who just appear to make up the numbers, but at least we have options. Fourthly, let's say Chelsea didn't see us as a threat. Why would they then WANT to sell us one of the best goalkeepers in the division and in Europe to significantly boost our chances? The fact is that Mourinho does see us as a threat even before Cech was going to come to us and it's why he was so determined to ship him off to France. Mourinho knows that with Cech as our keeper, we are heading closer to becoming realistic title contenders.
Also the fact that Maureen constantly bitches and whines about Arsenal, tells everybody that he sees us as a threat.
