Olly Groome has written on the OS that the fee is "undisclosed". So he doesn't know what it is. He doesn't know that it's not 3.5m. He can't have it both ways.
These Belgians and the club are incredibly guilty of doublespeak. Whatever they say, expect the opposite. To name a few examples: We will support Chris Powell (sack the bugger) We really did try and keep Poyet (let him go, he's asking for too much) We want to keep and invest in our youth (sold Gomez) We are conducting an extensive and comprehensive search for the right manager (LUZON!) Bulot is too expensive for our club (we're probably going to sign him) We need to start the revolution. We are legion. We are one. We do not forgive. We do not forget!
these kermo rumours are cringe worthy. We sell Gomez and KM's little buddy creates this story a day later. I feel sorry for the fans who are gullible enough to believe these lies. Really not a nice thing to do. It's been denied from people "close" to charlton and b'mouth now.
Paying Olly Groome to issue two contradictory versions of the Gomez fee- why bother? And the Yann rumour- what a pile of rubbish! Surely no-one would believe it, would they?
The chatter on Twitter tells a different story. Albeit, a lot of our fans on that platform are prepubescent "wannabe" hooligan kids, who are only able to express themselves in less than 120 characters with a series of LOL, FML and YOLO. Those people would believe anything. Could convince them that a tortoise is Prime Minister!
Spot on. It's about as cynical as you can get, and its not the first time that it has happened with this guy either. Surely it's time for Charlton's version of Bob Monkhouse to go and earn his Family Fortunes elsewhere?
I much prefer to get my Charlton info from bona fide, highly credible sources like Reams. He has been told we are signing 3 players from the same Premier League club. He can't say which one for fear of compromising his source
Bulot looks like he might be signing today. I'm ultimately happy with it as he's better than the harriots, but not convinced he's as good as a lot of fans are making out. Maybe after a season in London he's better prepared and can work on his consistency.
Already down to two players, absolute joker. I'm looking forwards to his excuse as to why it didn't happen.
It was only last week we were told that Bauer wasn't on our radar It's preying on the gullible. Not cool.
Nope! Was absolutely poor till after the African Cup of Nations, then played well for a couple of games. Unless he's going to be consistent, would rather we sign someone else.
He seems keen on returning, and his form picked up after big bob left too. Let's just hope he can replicate his form of March (I think) time and not pre Christmas Bulot. He keeps the harriots out so will instantly be s fan favorite
Bulot will do as a squad player who occasionally makes an impact off the bench. Talking of No.7s, does anyone remember Robert Lee around the 90-91 season in the old Division 1 (the Championship of that time)?. He hit a purple patch of form that season for around 30 games - basically we got the ball to him and he guaranteed you a goal scoring chance. I remember one particular master class from him at Ashton Gate - it was like watching Gazza play on Hackney Marshes. The old memory sometimes plays tricks but I am sure we sold Rob to Keegan's Newcastle at the end of that season, and replaced him with John Robinson from Brighton (another decent winger).
125k for Robinson, Nelson and Gatting. Pure genius from Curbs. Newcastle robbed us for Lee, but the 600k saw us over the line with regards to financing the return to The Valley. My heart bleeds for those days.
I remember Rob Lee tearing apart Bristol Rovers at Upton Park. I can't remember the year but it was a midweek game and we put four goals past them. I remember travelling back on the tube and the Bristol supporters were very complimentary about Rob and saying they thought he would play for England one day.
