Atletico just sold Mandzukic to Juve for £13m, okay he just turn 29 last month, but it seems a very reasonable price for the guy. Surely a team like Spurs or LFC would have paid a lot more, and surely there was interest. Perhaps they sold the guy to the club he was happiest to join. Give us Toby for £13m, please guys.

 

18m seems like a reasonable max price/break even point for Toby, if he will work within the wage structure. It's higher than I'd like to go, but seeing as how he's already played here and we can be reasonably certain he'll work out plus he seems to like it here, plus he's a fan favorite a bit of a premium is acceptable.

I'd be okay if we paid that much for him, but also okay if the club decided that was a little rich for their blood.

 

The board are not going to spend so much on Alderweireld that they give up on recruiting for other positions. They have always said they keep multiple targets in mind for every position and I'm sure CB is included! It's plain to see to everyone that we need at least 5-6 players (net) this summer to be competitive in the Europa League and I'm sure we will see them in.

They'll be supplemented by loan options/academy promotions and the wheels will keep on turning.

 

Just to throw an alternative spanner in the works, what about Virgil van Dijk.? I would have thought he would relish linking up with Koeman.? Oh well, it's all speculation, and in the end we'll see.
