Phil Neville wants to remain a pundit, Bolo Zenden is waiting for Liverpool to approach him and Steve Round is waiting for a head coach opportunity. The latest name to be banded about is Swansea coach Kristian O'Leary who coaches Swansea's U21 team.

For me it's staring us in the face, I'd bet on Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink being a success. He's currently head coach for Burton Albion and has lead them to promotion to league one and has Some potential in the game as a coach. I don't know who it might be but I hope it's one to get the imagination going.

Once another dozen or so names turn is down, Lee Clark will still be feverishly waving his hand in the air squeaking "pick me, pick MEEEEE".

Personally feels like all four of the "football board" are lamentable bozo's. Not saying they definitely are, just feels like they are! Each as inept as each other. Nobody appears to actually want to work with the wonderful Steve McClaren, Lee Charnley doesn't seem to really grasp negotiating, Graham Carr's list is divided into obvious talent we can't/won't buy and woeful unknowns and Bob Moncur's like a senile grandad hauled in front of the media.

It's bad when you can't even appoint an assistant...

I'm trying to remain hopeful we will see new faces but with each passing day my hope dwindles.
Hell, at this stage I'd settle for an assistant tea lady...

Look, the absolute last thing you want is an assistant tea lady. That's a cut-throat business and we could do without running tea cosy wars around the stadium over the strength of the tea!

Don't care who it is (obviously none of our previous incumbants) as long as Steve McClaren wants the person! At the end of the day, they have to help SM succeed!

I heard he was going after Eric Steele for your GK coach, world class. If he fetched him in and Meulensteen followed Steele through the door, possibly followed by Phelan from Hull, there you have a dream team of coaching staff.

I'd actually put money on you winning something with those guys running the show.

Steele is quality. He would help Krul a lot. Meulensteen and Phelan are both excellent coaches.

How dare you come in here with your solid suggestions of competent and almost exciting staff. Didn't you read the sign? This is the place where we get to moan endlessly about our stupid club.

The problem is, we'll end up with incompetent staff. It's the clubs MO.

    Sorry mate, won't happen again!

Likelihood is you'll get Alan Kimble and a couple of warehouse staff from the local SD.com shop. <ok>

None of them should be unobtainable, for any PL club. Steve Mac will have a contact list as long as your arm believe me.

McClaren has numerous contacts. The trouble is, it's Charnley that has the final say. He's a prick.

I thought they were all on a 'board' now? Surely it comes to a vote in that case.

No point employing a football man and letting an accountant (whatever this Charley fella is) over rule him on things to do with coaching and the team set-up.

I think you lot are being a bit pessimistic, the window has barely seen any activity yet and like I said, Steve Round is a dodged bullet, if you got him, that's worse than what you have now, nobody... he's worse than Carver, Pardew, he's worse than Kinnear, he's the worst person in all of football to me, a true ****stain of the game.

I have heard that a few times about Round. It's a bullet dodged, but bear in mind that McClaren still wanted to take that bullet, which is slightly concerning!!!

He's obviously friends with Steve McClaren, he joined Derby in January, shortly after this Derby's season fell apart. You do the maths.

Shteve might not think so, but as a fan who had to watch him sitting, nodding away like a pussy-whipped husband, for a full season without any contribution, if I could say it in a way you'd understand... you'd be begging for Carver to come back and show the passion he had.
