O'****e having a pop..He should have a look at himself firstly, cos he's been part of the problem, not the solution. John O’Shea says Sunderland’s board must admit responsibility for the club’s failures – and stop pointing the finger at managers when things go wrong. The Black Cats have been involved in relegation battles in the last three seasons, with first Paolo Di Canio, then Gus Poyet, and finally Dick Advocaat leading them to safety in the last few games of the season. It can’t keep being the manager’s fault. Dutchman Advocaat will lead Sunderland this season after becoming the fourth head coach at the Stadium of Light since owner Ellis Short sacked Steve Bruce in November, 2011. Neither Martin O’Neill, Di Canio or Poyet managed to complete a full season with the Black Cats before being relieved of their duties, but skipper O’Shea insists rather than blaming the head coach, Sunderland’s hierarchy must take some responsibility. He said: “It can’t keep being the manager’s fault. “And we cannot continue to have such a huge turnover of players – 10 or so in, 11 out, season after season. There have to be lessons learned if we’re to move forward. “The club has to admit there are a few things they could learn from and change.” http://www.sunderlandecho.com/sport...t-admit-responsibility-for-failures-1-7320262
The Manager buys the players, The manager, picks the team, the manager decides on the tactics, the manager is the one who can change things during a game to get improvement. Who else do you blame?? admittedly, giving a manager only a few months is very unfair, but the buck stops with him. In my job, if my team underperform, I will be giving my marching orders very quick...no different.
The manager was insane though Billy. I agree with him up to a point. The board have backed the managers but picked the wrong managers to back. Obviously the players have a lot of responsibility but it doesn`t make their jobs any easier when bad tactics open up weaknesses instead of exploiting strengths. If the board have to keep sacking managers they`re appointing the wrong ones.
What about players who seem to be able to grind out results against the likes of ManC, Chelsea Arsenal at the end of the season to escape relegation, then the new season play **** with the same manager ?
Do "your team" earn more than you do though flanders? It's one of very few roles in the world where the manager is paid less than the people he (or she?) manages
Leave United out of this, he's turned into a **** all by himself. Irish players do my head in when they speak to the media, ****ing drunk divs the lot of them.
No worries brother, They fall quickly don't they? Johnny evens player of the year here not so LONG ago. Brucie fell off Maggie's tits quickly
I agree with him Absolutely essential that the continuation plan to succeed Advocaat is already underway
Ok so fellas on here agree with the irish pet... Do you's agree that Jos is in the first team this season?
