Yeah but who cares what other people think about stuff that doesn't affect you whatsoever? Do you also go on Leeds forums and tell them they're not a big or famous club and are just a mid table championship team? Or do you just do what normal people do and let people believe what they want as long as it doesn't affect you? Because that's what I do. I don't go on the Southampton board just to say your team is incredibly overrated and you'll be lucky to finish as high, next season, as you did this season because it really doesn't affect me and I don't feel the need to say it. The big club stuff is so subjective, as well. Some class Leeds as a big club, some only class Barcelona, Madrid & Bayern as big clubs. Why in the flying **** would you care who thinks their club is big and what the **** gives you the authority to think you have the final say on what defines a big club?
Even ignoring that, just coming 2nd in the league (twice) and 2nd in our other CL final is more than bitters and saints could ever dream of
Not many of the other hundreds of clubs that haven't won it have spent 117m in one season trying - which brings me back to your clubs recent very poor history in the transfer market.
Inventing things that didn't happen because you don't have a leg to stand on No one is celebrating losing, just pointing out the #reality that our losses are still greater than anything your club has achieved in the same time period
OK so our record in the market isn't great (aside from generating record fees for our players) Big deal, we have no debt and are still better than you on the pitch so who cares?
You were listing it as an achievement you back peddling flute. These days you can rarely even qualify for the thing though, and the only time you've managed it in 6 years you got arse raped by all and sundry.
There's not even an ounce of humour or wit in it. It's just misplaced self-importance, effluent and #dullasfuck Y'know we're sorry Liverpool have, through the forces of basic human activity and the fact that the ****ing world exists and people do things in it like play football, turned out to be the successful footballing entity we have and that we have evidently caused you Saints fans to get so butt hurt that you walk around like you've got carrots up your arses, but that's what you call reality... time passes, things happen, more things happen, football teams win ****, others don't. If someone around here knew how to manipulate physics and matter then maybe it could all be changed. Oh wait, shiiiiiiiiit... @Red Hadron Collider
Ok guy's, this thread did go a bit off track. It was intended to get you views on transfers given all the money you have had to spend. For us we have come a long way in 5 years from league 1 to 7th in the premier league and just a couple of points behind the mighty Liverpool. Who knows what next season holds, fighting relegation, mid table or challenging top 4 again. I know what I would like. We know you are the bigger club with a far greater history of winning trophies but we and other clubs like Swansea and stoke are closing the gap. I think that money has ruined it for you and you are not very good at spending it. You have wasted so much it's scarey. I think back to the days before the big premier league money and you always unearthed gems- Hansen, Nicol , Whelan, Craig Johnson, rush - the list really is endless. A joy to watch and true legends. Anyway, an exciting season ahead, I hope we are both where we want to be and there will be two cracking games between us (just play lovren)
**** me haven't been on since Friday what the **** happened here Seems to be 8 pages of circles bigger dad etc. big club, small club, trophies, wasted money yawn yawn ****ing yawn! Can't wait for the footy to actually start so we can discuss on pitch matters!
Also I wish Saints fans would stop being so certain about closing the gap etc. when we're just about to embark on a Europa campaign, if we fail to make group stages then I have no doubt we will be challenging Liverpool/Spurs again but if we do then bigger squads have struggled in the league...
