I don't know Claude and I doubt anyone else on here does but as someone who suffers from severe depression I can empathise with the bloke <ok>

I count my blessings that I've not suffered with depression, but I worked for 16 years for the NHS in mental health, so I know first hand the devastating effects it can have on people's lives and their families. I hope Claude gets the support and help he needs.

I was in a bad place but I wasn't contemplating suicide but I made an off the cuff remark that was the cause of some concern. My depression is caused by another ongoing health issue. If you remember I didn't post on this forum from September until nearly into the new year.I have been unwell for nearly the past month but things are getting slowly better <ok>

Harsh man, i always feel that being sectioned has to be devastating for someones mental health and would just tip them further over, or give them an anti-depressant dependancy. They seem horrible places!

Glad you managed to convince them and that you are getting slowly better. Theres a few good websites and online forums fur these sotts of issues but i cant vouch for their effectiveness

I was there yesterday, it was incredible. So many people from different parts of the country united against austerity and the incumbent government. Everyone so passionate and willing to put pressure on the Tories. Jeremy Corbyn, Charlotte Church, Owen Jones and Russell Brand were there with some phenomenal speeches. Amazing scenes.

Went to the State of London debate in North Greenwich.

I've got to say I couldn't believe how easily and naively the audience fell for Boris Johnson's, what I like to call, faux-charisma and pseudo-intellect. There was very little substance to what he said and whenever he was pulled on any dodgy figures he mentioned or if he was grilled on why he hadn't met his targets, he did his best to divert the topic.

By the way, I'm fairly certain a lot of the statistics these Conservative politicians use are fabricated. I'd love to know where/who provides them with the figures.

For example, he claimed that in the 7 years he's been London Mayor, he's built 94,000 houses. The LBC host then said that it was actually 53,000. Boris was adamant it was closer to the 94,000 figure.

He also gave some bullshit percentage (can't remember what it was) for there being lower inequality in London 'than ever before' apparently.
