Not sure if anyone remembers me saying but my lass works with the wife of one of our Youth coaches. He also watches over tbe 1st team training.
We had a get togeather last night and he wouldnt give much away, but what he did say confirms what we already know.
Wickhams a nob whos decision making in a game is abysmal. He fancies himself as abit of an Essex boy. Fletch is an even bigger nob whos got bags of talent but throws it away. Graham is the most proffesional player weve got, always gives 100% in training. Watmores the most gifted player hes ever worked with, just needs to bulk up abit. Sorry thats all i could get just thought id share.

Good to read all of that mate as you say it confirms much of what we think to be true.

Wickham it's pretty clear likes to be seen as a footballer more than he likes playing football.

Fletcher I don't understand what the deal is. The car thing was tasteless but footballers buying stupid cars is hardly new. Is he a slacker in training? Does he drink?

The only bit that surprises me is what he said about Graham. DG spent a long time looking very overweight with us which is hardly the hallmark of a model pro regardless of injuries. That said he does seem to have turned himself around recently.

I forgot about Grahams weight issues
Good point mate. He must be talking about this year.
I got the impression Fletch pretty much strolls about in training not giving a toss. Abit like match day really.

Hearing stuff like this just pisses me off. They're in a privileged position compared to 99.9% of the crowd watching them every week, earning a modest lottery win every week. The least they can do is work their arses off and earn it.

If I don't give a **** at work and don't pull my weight I'd be put on Performance Management and out the door if I don't change my attitude. These buggers wages should be heavily bonus-based.

If I was Wickham or Fletcher and I had their goal-scoring record over the last couple of seasons, I'd hang my head in shame every time I had to leave the house. I'd be too ****ing embarrassed to go outside and I'd be working bloody hard to make amends.

Not sure you should name names lads. Wouldn't want to get the lad into trouble for something he's said over a few beers.

Tbf to Danny, he came in as a signing no one wanted, with a price tag that was way out, for a manager who was on his way out. He was loaned out multiple times over the years, no manager wanted a bar of him... He didn't know if he was coming or going. Add on the fact he's a Geordie and it's not a good mix. The only time he's been given a shot at the starting 11 was towards the end of Poyets charge (and I think he only did that as a **** you to Short, trying to get himself sacked with a nice handshake), and Danny actually gave his all. When Dick came in, Danny was in the team (even if on the bench) so did what alot of our team couldn't do... Buckled down, focused and got on with what he was paid to do.

I hope Danny gets off to a scoring start now the hoodoo is off of him with his first goal. I like the lad. May not have the talent of Fletch and Connor, but he's got heart. He's putting his head in where neither of the other two would, in fear of ruining their hair. Or lack of in Fletchs case. He will run into the ground for SAFC, put his body on the line, and chase down everything. We need that. He's got the chance, and he's taking it. Working his ass off on the summer hols, trying to make sure he is back in the team.

If you find the threads from when he signed (I sincerely hope no one has that kind of time on their hands) you'll see I thought he was going to be a good signing mate. Not everyone was against him as he'd shown ability the previous few years.

I don't think there's much excuse for a professional sportsman to be unfit or overweight, regardless of the situation. I don't think it's very professional. However as Tees says the lad must have had a change in attitude. I hope so as I still think there's a premier league player in there.

From what I saw of him at Swansea he has more natural ability than Conor will ever have, got the attitude right now so hopefully it's just a case of getting his confidence up.

And if you had a bad stomach you'd phone your boss and have the day off.. Whereas they'd have to come into work and be assessed by a group of medical staff.,,

I agree with you by the way but they have a few "cons" as well! But give em me £25k a week and I'd happily do what they do!!

They're no more than pedigree livestock Marcus, racehorses, bought by contract, with an intrinsic financial cost, and the vet / doctor's need to sign off on them if there's an issue with insurance.

I doubt that's the same with you. It's not the same sort of contract I'm on.

So you can't compare them, as in any professional athlete, with our contracts. Unless you're a professional athlete Marcus.
