Apparently Palace are set to move for Krul in an £8m deal.
    Wages not a problem apparently.
I have mixed feelings here but £8m is decent..

Mixed feelings? Not if this elevates Elliot to first choice 'keeper!

Better hope that Darlow fullfils his potential then otherwise it's Elliott all season!

    Edit: what Obi said!

Not a chance that will happen.
Having said that, it shows just far we have fallen under Ashley. We can't compete with Palace.

They can **** off. Who the **** do Palace think they are? I'm sorry I'm not getting on this vile Palace cocksucking bandwaggon. If Krul goes to them it is clear he has no ambition left in him.

Krul has been about as horrendous as all the others people have singled out since he became a dad. His kicking is ****, his reflexes are average, and the only thing that had him as top keeper in the league, his catching from crosses, went to pieces for a bit.

As long as we sign someone better, we can let him go, as with 99% of the squad.

Good question, seeing as most of them play like they're legless...

Don't forget that, with JPF working in Sunderland he may miscount due to the extra digit he has grown...

Is it really a step down? Other than the fanbase its not really? They don't pay people dogshit wages, they pay competitive wages. Where did they finish last season? I hate to say it.

Honestly i doubt he's that much better than darlow or some cheap german goalie car has been scouting. He's really taken a nosedive this past year.

We wont sign anyone better, and i still think hes very talented and would perform much better once we actually sort our shambles of a defence out. Be very disappointed if this came off.

I think Krul is massively overrated and has stagnated. I think he will benefit from a change in coach, and perhaps even a move. I'm not sure about Palace though. They can't be expected to keep up top 6 form of last season with that squad. All said and done they are a similar level to us. Its hard for goalkeepers to look I think. you get the odd one who will make loads of saves. But generally more work means more errors creeping into your game. You want to be at a club where you get to focus on quality not quantity.

Bad for us mind. We won't get a replacement of his quality. It comes back to signing good defenders and giving them good protection.

I've said for years that Krul isn't all he's cracked up to be and I don't think he'd be any great loss.

Krul in my opinion has definitely gone backwards over these last 2 season, however, I put most of this down to having the worst CB's in the PL in front of him. That said it doesn't account for his woeful distribution, far too slow and rarely throws to one of our players. If they can get £8m, I say good luck.

Who's the replacement being mooted? Any argument for selling him goes out the window when you consider the likely outcome is us being stuck with Elliott as our first-choice keeper for the whole season. You'd have thought the atrocious spell with Alnwick between the posts this season just gone would stand as a lesson to the club.

I would hope Darlow would be ahead of Elliot!

Anyhow, Krul has stagnated and possibly even in decline - £8M deal or no deal - deal!

We'll have a good think about a replacement if Krul actually gets sold. With the new season only a couple of months away we won't have to wait long to start scouting a replacement.
