I think that another loan for Fredericks might be best for both him and the club. He seemed to play well for Boro last season, but missed quite a lot of games through injury. A full season with a Premier League team would be ideal. Yedlin might be seen as a decent option on the wing. His pace is immense and he looks more comfortable in advanced positions, to me. He's also been linked with a loan to Norwich. No idea how likely he'd be to start regularly for them, though.
Talksport just played a recording of an interview with kane saying he was not leaving spurs and quoted spurs as saying they are not selling kane...their phone in is..... Will kane leave spurs! Journalism at its best
Journalism, but not as we, or anybody with more than two brain cells, knows it. Talkshite at its usual puerile best....
This year’s Damn Meow. It’s important the players we talk about endlessly but never get are animal-themed. I think we may be talking to Barca on the principle that we hate Real. People then try to guess who we could be interested in and come up with Bartra, but I doubt that’s the case. More likely we hope they have this year’s VDV kicking around somewhere.
We've been linked with Bartra for a few weeks already, as the first stories were doing the rounds before the Everton game (and that's sidestepping how AVB was after him last summer) - although it does feel like an agent trying to get a pay raise, given his release clause dropped to €12m as he has a clause in his contract about minimum appearances which Barca failed to meet, which sounds like Levy Territory to me. It does need to be said that a lot of the stories seem to be a Spanish sports paper trolling Barca by linking one of their players with us, and running daily stories on the subject. Guess which one it is... http://www.marca.com/en/2015/06/16/en/football/barcelona/1434468716.html http://www.marca.com/en/2015/06/17/en/football/barcelona/1434555731.html http://www.marca.com/en/2015/06/18/en/football/barcelona/1434616946.html Mundo Deportivo, meanwhile, linked us to Sergi Roberto the other day. Somehow there hasn't been a single "Spurs double deal for Barca starlets" story to come from these two...
"I think that another loan for Fredericks might be best for both him and the club. He seemed to play well for Boro last season, but missed quite a lot of games through injury. A full season with a Premier League team would be ideal." The question is whether he has done enough to tempt a PL club to loan him.
"It does need to be said that a lot of the stories seem to be a Spanish sports paper trolling Barca by linking one of their players with us, and running daily stories on the subject. Guess which one it is" Is this more evidence of a "power shift" , in that La Marca think Spurs are a credible enough suitor to WUM Barca with ??
Is it too much to hope for that Marca got a new editor who, appalled by the paper's relentless tapping-up of Bale, is looking to redress the balance? If so, commence unsettling Busquets and Mascherano!
The Sunday a Times are reporting that we're very close to signing Alderweireld. Apparently, Mitchell, who was responsible for bringing him to Saints, has been in contact with him and assured him of being a regular in a back 4 with Vertonghen. Saints want to exercise the £5.7mill buyout clause in his loan deal from Atletico but, apparently, Atletico can buy out of that for £2mill and are trying to get more for him elsewhere.
The Wail is reporting that Trippier's arrival doesn't mean that Yedlin's going be be loaned out, but instead we're open to offers for Walker. City need to improve their HG quota, so I'm sure we can come to an agreement in the £25m region...
Maybe the Levy/Baldini/Mitchell triumvirate is considering a move for Clyne? Buying half of Southampton's defence from last season might make sense, considering that they conceded 20 less goals than us.
The rumour might have legs as Alderweireld will look for regular football to try and ensure his place in Belgium's Euro 2016 squad. A season alongside Vertonghen should theoretically help both him, Belgium, and hopefully, us!
Sun on sunday claims chelsea will bid £11 for dembele...why would we let him go to them for a £5m loss? and why would he want to go there...he is said to be frustrated with the lack of first team football and he will not get much of that there...they had a brilliant midfield? Do journalists actually believe the stuff they write?
Dembele is one of the few, reliable(ish), options we have at the moment who adds steel to our midfield. I hope this is just paper talk. Unless, of course, some very good replacements come in.
