Wasn't there an issue about Rangers paying their players from an offshore account which, if HMRC took issue with they would face a tax bill that they couldn't meet?

Potentially a £58m tax bill apparently.

Wasn't our last SPL player JVoH? He was pretty good and Cousin, while a little useless later on, scored a decent amount of goals while the team was on a high.

He has been a very badwillie if you ask me!!!!!

I'd have him straight away and if we had the money, I would have taken Craig Conway as well, but I believe he has gone to Cardiff. A players reputation off the field does not matter once he pulls on a City shirt and crosses the white line.

Its obvious he'd choose Rangers anyway, unless he wants premier league football

Even if he's a rapist? Seriously? Thats almost the most stupidest ****ing thing I've read on these forums. I personally hate it when people are named and shamed before actually being found guilty, and we should assume hes innocent until proven otherwise, although his track record speaks for itself. Your statement though is just ****ing stupid.

I presume you'd be ok with the Scottish ***** too then, once you know, he's pulled the shirt on and gone over the line?

    Unbelievable.

Maybe i'm old school or the opposite? But i don't like seeing major criminals playing high profile football especially for our own team

Absolutely! I wouldn't pre judge this case, but I'm uncomfortable buying players who have a string of convictions (1 can be a mistake, 2 or more suggests recidivist) and especially for crimes of violence or sexually aggravated crimes. Sorry, but for me Rooney is ok (low morals but he at least paid a willing woman for sex), Marlon King is not. I'd take a punt on Jimmy Bullard (Drunkard) but not Joey Barton (Arsehole). I suppose it depends on your own moral stance. Mine isn't very high, but I like to think it's above the "rapist" level.

After Marlon King its best to stay away from anyone with that kind of off pitch behaviour. Hull City dont need it.

Goodwillie is a Badwillie. No thanks.

Ok then, so Nick Barmby fighting with JB (takes two to tango) near the Humber Bridge. Not quite as bad as being a rapist, but still, unacceptable behaviour. I'm not advocating what the lad did, in the same way I don't agree with what Marlon King did. However, in my opinion, your football does the talking on the pitch. If he ever did he sign for us (he won't, this is hypothetical) and put in a man of the match performance, there would be those in the stadium who didn't know much about him who would say "Bloody hell, what a player, he just won us the match". Someone like you might lean in and say "Yeah, but he's a rapist. So, yeah. Just thought you would like to know." The person wouldn't then go "oh, well **** him then, lets lynch the **** in the car park afterward."

I mean, hell, I don't know the lad, we aren't mates, I'll never meet him, so if he's an attempted raper, that's his problem, not mine. He isn't going to encourage the rest of his teammates to starting raping other people. If he pulls on a shirt for a team and bangs in goals like nobodies business (like Marlon did) then he is going to be admired for that. If you keep bringing up a chequered past, people will never see past it and he will never be able to move on. If I ever made a mistake like that, God forbid, and people kept reminding me of it, then I probably would have trouble getting over it as well.

It is hard to describe how I feel about it over the internet without sounding like a rape sympathiser. I'm not, I do not in any way advocate what any of them have done, I just wish people would appreciate footballing talent as opposed to gossiping about their personal lives. You support Hull City, any player in black and amber, anything to do with the club. This isn't Footballers Wives or Dream Team, the gossip about players personal lives is irrelevant compared to their job.

Absolutely right - Joey Barton is still a Premier League footballer despite racking up numerous convictions and a 6 month jail sentence. He's one of Newcastle's best players and is being linked with a couple of the big sides, admittedly he's been very lucky in his career, but can still perform at the highest level despite the animosity he's subjected to off the pitch

There's also all this crap about a club's image being disrupted by a problematic footballer. Coventry got a load of bad publicity when Marlon King joined, but once he started banging in the goals, the fact that he'd served a prison sentence and had been convicted many times in the past seemed to be forgotten about.

Quite obviously David Goodwillie isn't joining City, but had he transferred to us and scored 20 in his first season, the overwhelming majority of Hull City fans wouldn't give a **** about his personal life. To strengthen your point, Goodwillie hasn't been proven guilty of rape yet. It's the way football is and the way supporters think; should they do the business on the pitch, off the field issues go out the window <ok>

No point signing him till his trials done I suppose, though if he was found guilty they could sack him for misconduct maybe? He won't go to us anyway.

Would you be so forgiving if it was your sister that he'd raped?

Personally, I can let off a player who gets in a scrap at a club, it could happen to anyone, but I'd rather not see rapists, wife beaters, *****philes or drink drive killers playing for my club.

Ye but would you want Ryan Giggs tearing up the left wing for City for the last 17 years if he was your brother??
