I was just thinking that we have not paid much heed to the euros

Ilori played all 90 mins v England's lot. I read a comment or two about carvalho playing the game but nit our own lad.

Ings got on for last 20 as well.

Anyone got an opinion about their performances?

Illori was sound all game, looked fairly accomplished.

Can has gotten an assist for Germanys first tonight aswell. With Berahino injured should be some opportunities for Ings to impress throughout the tournament.

  5. Can't say I notice Ilori but that's not necessarily a bad thing for a defender

England didnt score so he must be alright. Most of our defenders like to gidt the opposition just one goal out of courtesy

Some of us could have played in defence for Portugal and England still wouldn't have scored.

Can has bossed both games as the more attacking midfielder in the CM pairing. Can play in CM - what a surprise huh? Such an exciting talent, honestly. Comittee/Rodgers/Scout have taken a lot of stick but fair play, they did find a gem.. Scatter gun approach does that, though.

Stones still #bottling it on the bench

Is he ever going to play or is he now waiting to hide behind Gomez too?

England look line they will never score. Last tournament was the same. I said then the type of players we make are all runners and chasers not footballers

I don't know why all the clubs were worried about the U21 players burning out this summer, 3 games is hardly a lot.

Shame as they looked much more exciting but seems like have for stage fright once got to the big stage but this is what the u21 are all about.

Let them experience tournament football early on so when they get there with the full team in a few years time they have that experience and can deal with it better

Lingard scores a good volley for England to take the lead against Sweden, but they have not been very impressive. Kane is useless and Ings got the full 2nd half and has not done much, although he should have had a penalty.

Can has to be played at CB as the defence was in tatters. He played extremely well there and in his first season in the Prem will have done no harm for him being played in that position. He will play in midfield next season.

Kane & Ings did little but with no creativity in the middle I can't blame them. Jenikson looks very good however.

Jenkinson seems to have grown as a player since he first broke into the Arsenal side. Looked good today from what I saw, first team football for Arsenal and West ham has turned him into a good player.

Wow so England scraped the win. Very unexpected. Had it on the radio in the car and it sounded dull dull dull so put music on, same probs for the U21s as the main team just clueless football with no direction or incision it seems

Jenkinson played well. Loftus-Cheek was good for the short time he was on. Lingard's goal was a bit special.

There's a fat lad in the Home Counties who is convinced that Ings was man of the match and that Lingard, Kane and a kid who wasn't fit enough to start were to blame for England nearly drawing the game.
