Absolutely. Would rather keep the 500 quid in my pocket and put it towards something nice, and Swiss, with working parts like A nice watch will never be obsolete whereas that thing will be done in 1.5 - 2 years
Isn't he English and drives F1 cars But no. They make a nice watch in their bracket. I'd wait till i had a bit more in the pocket and look at the next tier up... TAG, Omega, IWC, Rolex. Any of those will last and last and become a nice heirloom for the family. Doesn't have to be new either where prices are inflated as with anything else. There's also the pre-owned market where you can pick up good deals due to depreciation and so on, as long as you're careful and make sure the watch has been looked after and serviced.
Completely agree. You don't lose money on a top quality watch. I treated myself to a refurbished 1960's Rolex Oyster perpetual a couple of years back. If I sold it tomorrow I'd probably make a profit and it's 50 years old ffs!
Mahou is much nicer than Estrella, not a fan of Cusquena. I was gutted ASDA stopped selling Mahou but they had Brooklyn Beer so grabbed that £6 for 4 though so won't be doing it often. Sick of ****ing packing now I move this coming Friday then off to Portugal on the Monday. Cristal is the best of the beers there but I expect they'll have Spanish stuff, Super Bock and Sagres are terrible.
Very nice mate. That's an actual timepiece and yes, you should see some good appreciation on it as it ages if you look after it, as I'm sure you are doing. One day I'll invest in a vintage Rolex 'Newman' Daytona.
I went to Sainsbos specially mainly to see if they had any Amstel - which they didn't. I like Brooklyn and see that in all the big supermercados. Saw that Sagres in there yesterday and was going to get a pack but went with the Mahou due to money off. I bet Sagres tastes better in Portugal they'll send the dregs over here in bottles. Maybe you should move to portugal... only one lot of packing then
Five figures I believe. Like I say... One day I like sports-chronograph watches especially and that's one of the best Got my eye on a nice nearly-new IWC Ingenieur at the mo... quite a big modern watch at 44-46mm, but I do like classic / traditional sizes and looks too like the datejust/oyster

Just checked it out, not a brand I'd heard of tbh, but it looks great. Christopher Ward is worth a look, the only British watch maker who have their own movement I think, shame he's a ****ing kopite like dead reasonable as well.
Have heard of them and they're very reasonably priced for a Swiss movement. Set on that IWC though, just waiting for the right one to come up and I'll get it I think. Rolex were based in England originally and have no known red scouse connections apart from Sterling and his agent wearing one Current watch is an Omega Speedmaster btw.
I wouldn't get one but disagree. A watch these days aren't needed. The only use a traditional watch has is to tell the time but a phone does that and you have clocks on walls so you can easily get buy without one. Rather spend that money on something that did a lot more which an apple watch does

I had a citizen economic with titanium body and solar power. Bloody thing imploded on a flight after 10 years service. I think a watch is a nice thing to have and is a fashion thing. I am not gone on this wearable malarchy. In the end most are fads. A good quality honest watch will never look wrong. An I watch? Might look very past it in a year
