Nothing certain here so dont take my word for it. A mate of mine happened to say that we're in talks with David Goodwillie from Dundee, would be a great signing if true.
The next best thing in Scotland and rumoured to be playing mostly at Ibrox next season - probably £3m transfer
I would be very suprised if he signed for us. He has an impressive career statistics and just played for the senior Scottish national team. I would have thought either Celtic or Rangers are a more likely club for him
He'll go to Rangers, they've had a £1m bid rejected, Dundee want £2m, he'll move for somewhere between the two.
Recent memory of Kris Boyd @ Middlesboro. Time to leave the SPL alone. That league is very poor quality overall. Our last SPL striker proves the point as well. Forget his name though. Yes he was that good.
Yep thats the one. Thanks mate. Where is he now ? Bristol Rovers ? Proves the point. Kris Boyd gone to Turkey after a poor season @ Middlesboro and Forest. Case closed on the SPL.
Cheers. I was thinking on daryl duffy to be honest. Danial Cousin is quality and far to good for the SPL. His problem was lazyness and a bad attitude.
Am I missing something here. No doubt he is one of Scotlands finest, but wouldn't it make more sense to wait until after the trial? After all, if he loses we could be facing a 7 year wait before he can play. Now I'm not pre-judging the issue, and I'm sure he is as innocent as a babe, but he does have a history of being unluckily and unjustly convicted when in fact he's innocent Wickipedia:- In June 2008, Goodwillie was arrested after assaulting a man in a Stirling nightclub,[17] which resulted in a £250 fine.[18] Goodwillie was involved in a similar incident in September 2009 when he was arrested after a nightclub doorman was knocked unconscious.[19] Two months later, Goodwillie received a £200 fine for his part in the incident.[20] Dundee United manager Peter Houston placed Goodwillie under a "house arrest" scheme to avoid further trouble Sports.scotland.com Published Date: 04 June 2011 By ALAN PATTULLO David Goodwillie remains, having only recently extended his contract by an extra year to 2013. However, he is also the prize target and could be allowed to leave should circumstances permit. This does not merely refer to the price being right. Goodwillie is currently facing a charge of rape after an incident in West Lothian at New Year. "There have been no direct enquiries from clubs to me," said United chairman Stephen Thompson yesterday.
Wherever he plays, it seems like he'll be able to handle himself on the pitch! I didn't think rangers had cash for transfers? They are a finical mess and even McCoist said the team would be made up of loans and freebies this season? Agree though the SPL is terrible. The fact that Championship players are proving world beaters up their (Ledley/Commons/Hooper) illustrates that the SPL is no better than the Championship. IMHO.
They have a bit of dosh. They've already bought a Spanish winger and offered nearly a million quid for Lee Wallace and over a million for Goodwillie. They're being linked with a move for Kenny Miller. They were in proper dire straits last summer and found £3m to buy Jelavic so the situation isn't cut and dry.
He put money in to pay of their debt (some or all, I dunno) but he'd promised £5m per season for transfers and the last I heard, there were plenty of people asking where that promised cash was.
