Do players really need them? Surely if a player is wanted the two clubs talk and both want the best for the club and the club buying the player knows its in there best interest to offer something good to get the player, most have a bit of common sense to know what is a goof offer or not surely? Would save a fortune. If we really do need these people then maybe a set fee per player sold, as it seems agents earn **** loads of cash of the back of a sale. Just a thought
I can't understand why the PFA do not work on behalf of players, they always used to take the role of agents but I guess with the number of international transfers these days that may not be so easy
I think using agents facilitates money leakage and laundering by club owners and players in third world countries where so many players come from these days.
They ruined most sports, and facets of life. They have agents for everything; music, actors, writers... They have no discernible talent and yet are able to profit by standing on the shoulders of giants. They should be thrown onto the pile of cancers that is making this world a dilapidated cesspool, along with lawyers, politicians and religion.
Also, you do get players who don't have agents that represent them. I believe Christian Dailly was one of them that always represented himself.
Lewis Hamilton has spoken a lot this year about his contract talks with Mercedes as he doesn't have an agent, can't think of many footballers without one though
