T'Pau - China In Your Hand I remember it being on the radio a lot when I was a bairn. Disliked it then. Dislike it now.
This is the A side of the track I posted. First one I recall someone playing with a bow. Though most people recall it on Painter Man which they wrote and Boney M later murdered. We didn't see as much of these bands upNorth, though I,did see Creation at the end of term do at Scarborough College in 1967. Used to envy a lad I knew in Luton who used to tell us of nights with Creation, Geno Washington, Action and The Alan Bown Set all on one bill. Those others are worth a look on YouTube though there isn't an awful lot. As an aside, Creation records which first signed Oasis, was named after this band. The founder was a big fan of theirs and had a band called Biff Bang Pow after one of their songs (clip below. It was written when someone was reading a comic and bet he couldn't work those phrases into a song).
Sorry for this... Mate of mine back in the early 80s thought this was the best thing he'd ever heard. It made me want to stab him in the face. Can't believe it's actually online.
Great shout. One of the most nauseating songs ever - made worse by the stupid name and the faux intensity and sincerity. Alan Partridge made fun of it, didn't he?
The best version is the Amy Winhouse's 68 version, she wanted to release that one but the record label forced through the more upbeat version.
Not heard that before, but it is undeniably utter dog turd. This one, I just really detest. Never liked it when it was released, and each time I hear it, I like it less.
