Great point. As if the Club who lockout the media are going to go to the media to tell every club how much they've got to spend. It's just the Media plucking numbers out of their arse ultimately. Reality though is you need 40m at least or some real magic needs to happen. Same for us.

We'll end up with some unknown Dutch 19 year old from a 12th division Swiss side who is regarded as the 'next big thing' and that will be it. Cue the usual bollocks. What is even more depressing - Williamson, Gouffran, Sammy Ameobia and ****ing Obertan are still with us. Not to mention that useless lump of Argentinian cow **** that is Coloccini.

This really is too soon to be getting irate about lack of progress though. Weve barely just appointed a manager, and if we seemed to be rushing head first into new signings (of questionable quality) there surely would be outcry about that. If as has been stated then we are actually looking to spend decent money and aim higher, then the transfer targets we should be aiming for are obviously going to be more difficult to acquire than your cheapo player from...well, wherever. Particularly considering our complete lack of appeal and the absolute ****storm we have just been through.

If a few weeks or whatever passes and its shown that we are still doing nothing and trying to skinflint our way through these 'promises,' well, we can all just sit on this board and go mental. How much actual concrete evidence do we even have of supposed transfer targets/attempts/failed attempts? bugger all from what i can see

 

I actually think nothing has happened on the transfer front. We don't even have a backroom yet. The longer they leave the signings the less they need to pay in wages. Sign 4-6 players 6 weeks before needed means 6 weeks of wages at say 40k each. That's nearly 1.5 million on wages saved.

Sod players, mate, I'm solely concerned with a lack of progress in assembling a backroom team, and a serious lack of progress on communication. The fans forum has finally been set for around 9th July. Yep, the urgent meeting as stated by Charnley late April is still over 3 weeks away. We still have no assistant, no 1st team coaches, no real idea what the set-up is. I genuinely, honest to God don't understand - in football, you know what you're walking into and you know who you want with you when moving roles. The conversations, the meetings, the fcking media itself make it clear what's necessary, yes? But not at Newcastle. Mirror's just said Zenden has turned us down, allegedly following Phil Neville in rejecting an approach.

Why oh why at our pi$$pot joke of a club does regular service simply not apply?

Hearing rumours that Zenden has turned down McClaren approach so no doubt that could be Friday's announcement. How can we sign players when we can't even get our backroom staff in ready to train them.

 

McClaren now setting NEXT FRIDAY as a deadline for staff. Only at Newcastle.

So never mind getting zero players in this week, we're not going to have a single new face when the old shower returns. At some point I'm going to have to fully give up.

Honestly, not one day goes by when this shambolic sh!tstain of a club doesn't surprise me. To take 150+ days to appoint McClaren when he was the ONLY option is staggeringly inept. To not allow him to bring his supporting team is baffling. Within 3 interviews upon joining, McClaren managed to lie flatly about appointing his backroom team in a timely fashion and we're now being given an optimistic Friday 26th June for having them in situ. That in all likelihood means no new players before July, meaning new signings are more than likely not taking part in pre-season. The only news stories with any quotes are about players or coaches NOT wanting to join, with the only soundbyte so far of someone wanting to be part of the club is from Lee fcking Clark.

I may well be over-egging the negative omelette, but if this continues not only has Ashley added lie upon lie, but Lee Charnley is directly complicit and the pair of them have treated Newcastle United's fans with new depths of contempt. We shall see, but every day sees them further and further behind where they need to be. I hope the fans stand firm and don't renew under any circumstances - they each deserve better than these two contemptible fcking morons.
