Jaysus them Galileo's are tough, she got bumped and battled back! That's twice Curvy's beat me this season now
To be fair anyone riding for Coolmore at Royal Ascot down the years usually yield a fair few winners now! Kinane, Murtagh, Joseph rarely left empty handed either. I guess that's the ultimate testament to the man, he was offered the top job on the flat. That says everything I guess. Credit where its due, he's doing a fine job on the majority of them (bar the one I backed yesterday Sir Isaac!) His ride on GM Hopkins was my favorite but that's purely pocket talk
I know the Ribblesdale was a rough race, but I simply couldn't be backing Pleascach as I've never been a fan of Kevin Manning as a jockey, so when I saw Ryan Moore alongside him on Curvy in the home straight, had little doubt of which horse was going to win. In the end, I found three horses in the field who could beat Pleascach, two of them were 1st and 3rd!
I think that had Pleascach prevailed, she would have lost the race in the subsequent Stewards’ Enquiry as she barged the winner Curvy into a couple of the others. Ironically, Godolphin’s second string, Entertainment, probably did nothing to assist their first string. James Doyle set a sedate pace and tried to steal it at the turn; and Pleascach did not settle early on and once it became a sprint to the line in the straight she could not see the others off.
How many would have snatched up and been happy going back in with nothing more than a hard luck story. What a jockey! Aside from that the favourite was a most beautiful looking animal.
Kingfisher into 5/1 for the Gold Cup! War Envoy 8/1 Dissolution 15/8 e/w treble on these worth a bet?
very pleased for Graham Lee. I was torn between that horse and Mizzou for the comp and went for the latter! managed to get a bet on at 14/1 though
Very unlucky Kingfisher backers. I don't recall seeing that many gaps closing on a horse. Finished like a train and surely would have won with even half a clear run. Didn't know the winner was supplemented at 35k.
Change the jock Very unlucky ste, should a won that. Best horse beaten there. Simenon 4th not much good for my each way, far too keen the whole way round. Doyler never quite settled him. Forgotten Rules wasn't too happy letting himself down. Nice story, smaller team win and Graham Lee give it the perfect ride.
Kingfisher very unlucky and would have won in my book. Forgotten Rules didn't stay but travelled over everything before the final two furlongs, at 1m6f and 2m will be unbeatable. The horse won it but for me when you read back over the history books it will have to be viewed as an easy year.
That's what he's doing now though?! I jest ya, I jest ya! Very unlucky, I'd been pretty pissed if I'd a been on him. OBrien has his horses in some form hasn't he?
Would connections enter him for next year's Melbourne Cup, or would he have too much weight? I guess he'll win one or two Irish St Leger's in the next few seasons.
Moore and O'Brien again! Its like Mullins & Walsh at Cheltenham all over, except I'm not backing them sadly! Well done anyone with winners today, bound to be a few! Moore won't win on the last jolly though cos I've backed it
Well done with any winners today fellas. Someone somewhere will be pretty well off backing Ryan Moore this week unfortunately it isn't me!
