No not got a car licence, provision. Thanks guys for the advice and the whooshs it's been most helpful
Pointless maybe but a legal requirement in order to obtain a full motorcycle licence......CBT for a bike is nothing like CBT for a car
Make sure your provisional has not expired before booking.....remember photo licences only last 10 years
You don't do a CBT for a car, until recently a car licence came with a restricted bike licence, making doing a CBT pointless.
Not for some time....only mopeds are covered You can ride a moped without L plates and without taking the full motorcycle test if either: you have a car driving licence and a compulsory basic training (CBT) certificate you passed your driving test before 1 February 2001 You must complete a CBT course to confirm your full moped licence if you passed your car driving test on or after 1 February 2001. Your CBT certificate for riding mopeds is then valid for as long as your car driving licence. I'm assuming BL wants a full motorcycle licence......you cannot take your test without completing the CBT first I believe a car licence allows you to ride up to 125cc on L plates but I believe only for 2 years
You just confirmed what I said, although I was and am sure the date was later than that, my mate passed his car test around 05/06 and has up to a 125cc included on it, but his licence was revoked and he retook his test in 2011 and lost the moped licence. And you have that backwards a CBT is active for two years then you need to renew it but reading what you posted if you have a full car licence (after 2001) you only need do a CBT once and it sticks on your licence.
You still need a CBT to ride a proper motorbike (a 125 is a glorified moped) & still requires L plates on a car licence as a full car licence only offers restricted provisional rights for motorcycles......I think the only 2 categories I cannot drive as a full licence now are PSV & HGV
Ferrari performance indeed - even a bog standard sports tourer like mine goes from a standing start to 60mph in 3 seconds, nobody in a car is ever gonna take you at the traffic lights
My new R1 is so fast it's frightening...but I'm still considering to upgrade to a Kawasaki H2....just don't tell the wife please log in to view this image
You mention two really serious bits of kit, a regular at Willie Woods has the H2, he changes bikes every year so he's always riding the fastest thing on the road, he reckons the H2 is just mental.
Roads are too busy and drivers are too ****e for bikes these days, at least around here. Seen so many close shaves, bikers are getting killed all the time, cyclists included. I'm guilty myself of nearly exterminating a few twat motorcyclists, flying so fast you don't see them until they're on top of you or on a full black bike in full black gear sometimes you just don't see them. Heard a few horror stories from my mates with bikes and all, enough to put me off having one on the road.
My R1 isn't black.....it's resplendent in Yamaha MotoGP livery (blue & white).....I wear matching leathers & always ride with the headlight on
This is mine & so many others dream bike at the minute......but mortgaging the house to release the £132k asking price is not an option !! please log in to view this image
This is mine (not mine but same bike & colour) which is currently sitting in the warehouse at work where it has spent the last 6 years waiting for a new piston and barrel and a full set of gaskets where it will stay until I either have somewhere to ride it again or a full bike licence so I don't get tempted to go green laning and get in a load of bother please log in to view this image
It's a handsome thing, imo its far nicer than the H2, in the beauty stakes though nothing tops this Italian beauty - bugger, can't do link, imagine MV Agusta F4 please log in to view this image
