Would be a bad move for him imo. Here he's a top dog, but at Tottenham, where they collect midfielder like top trumps, he'd run the risk of being left at the starting traps. See what I did there?

Hope he stays with us, he's too good for the bench which is where he'll end up all too often at Spurs I reckon.

I hope he stays, but if we get the right price for him, we can replace him.

Will have to happen quickly TLF so we have time to replace him.

I think if he stays Shelvey will shine for us this season, he got his head down after Christmas when he looked a little lost. He grew each game and another good season here should stamp him in Hodgsons good books.

Monk wont let shelvey go and i dont think shelvey will want to go if he could anyway. He is an important player for us this season.

I agree and think he was starting to show what most of us knew he had, where as some still insisted on criticising him despite good performances. I don want him to leave, but he could be replaced. I like dai think he will be here at the start of next season.

Like jinx says... We don't give long contracts to sell players, We don't need to sell our best players to stay afloat anymore and weaken the side, We want to build and improve the squad.....

In January I'd have said sell him, now we need to keep him.

I disagree. Fabianski is the one we must keep hold of.

Would it really be that much of a upward step for him don't get me wrong but they aren't champions league material by a long chalk and Gérard wanted him to stay but he wanted regular first team football

For me it depends on the money and the replacement we could line up (would have to be home-grown and capable of scoring and making goals from midfield in the Prem....they usually don't come cheap).

Shelvey was tremendous the last few months of the season but he frustrated the **** out of me before that....he's one of the youngest players in our squad so I'm happy to keep him and hope he has finally matured and can be consistent now.
There's a chance that his up turn in form is a false dawn and that he could regress though....I would sell him if we came out of it with a good young player and a shed load of change in our back pocket.

Doubt anyone would offer the £12m+ that would interest us though...?

I wonder how much Liverpool would want for Allen? We could push Ki further forward and pair Allen with Cork.
If we could get him for £5-7m I'd take £10-14m for Shelvey.

Other HG status midfielders I like are Nick Powell, Johnnie Williams, Liam Bridcutt (a DM though, see the Ki solution above), Will Hughes (Wonder what Derby would want for him), Tom Huddlestone, Henry Lansbury, Jem Karacan (at Galatassaray at the mo I believe....a DM).

Or buy somebody like Leroy Fer (always a handful against us for Norwich and QPR, scores goals) and buy a HG Keeper or Striker instead.

£12-15m for Shelvey is about right I reckon. Spend half of it on a replacement and the other half on a back-up keeper or put it toward securing somebody like Mitrovic.

I guess I don't see it like many of you. I don't value Shelvey any more than 8 or 9 million. I certainly don't see him as twice the value of Joe Allen !

I have to disagree , Shelvey has more in his locker than Allen , how many goals has Allen scored for example ? I can't say I've watched Allen much since he left us but I think Shelvey is much more of a game changing player than Allen ever was .Imo

Shelvey is a game changer, but I feel it's only for the better about 51% of the time.

    You misunderstand me Stereo

I prefer Allen, which is why I proposed selling Shelvey buying Allen and investing the change somewhere else...but Shelvey's market value is more I reckon, because of the type of player he is

Scoring, making goals and set piece expertise is valued more than industry, intelligent passing and consistency in the transfer market.
Add in the England factor and you are looking at £12-15m for Jonjo IMO

Allen is perceived as a Liverpool £15m flop
I reckon they'd take £6/7m, especially if Brendan goes.
