Premiership Title odds 2015/2016. Chelsea 6/4 Manchester City 3/1. Arsenal 9/2 Manchester United 5/1 Liverpool 14/1 Tottenham 66/1 Southampton 150/1 Everton 200/1
As this season showed , where you finish the previous season is no predictor of the eventual outcome. Historically, we have done better than Spurs. Expenditure and recruitment also plays a part. Arsenal and United are almost equal because it is anticipated that they will reinforce considerably before the start of the season.
Chelsea 6/4 Manchester City 11/4 Arsenal 5/1 Manchester United 5/1 Liverpool 2 5/1 Tottenham 100/1 Southampton 250/1 Everton 300/1
Let's hope the bookies have got it very wrong. My dream is for Chelsea, Manchester United and West Ham to get relegated. Don't mind WHU but I had to pick three teams to get relegated. As for the other two, would love them to join Leeds in the nether regions of the football league forever!!
A bookies brain works like this. Make the odds on liverpool attractive, get lots of Liverpool fans thinking they could win the league and rake in lots of cash when they all lump on and they slump under Rodgers again
So you only place a bet if the odds look favourable? I tend to place a bet if I believe something will happen. no point in putting money on something that doesn't actually come true
Well thas why other clubs have shorter odds than Liverpool. I wouldn't bet on Liverpool as it would be throwing money at the bookies. But I am sure that the bookies know what they are doing with the odds.
I'd say people betting on anyone but Chelsea, Man City or Arsenal are throwing money at the bookies, and two of them are debatable
This. Both Pool and Utd's odds are too short IMO but they always are, as they attract a lot of money from fans rather than real punters looking for value. Value would be to lay Pool at the current price and then back them at a much smaller stake a couple of months later when they will probably be a fair bit longer, given the first 7 away games (5pts from those games last season!)
It looks like the fixture list has had an effect already, as you can back Pool at 30/1 now! It renders my previous post a bit redundant TBF.
William Hill's title odds today. Chelsea 6/4 Man City 11/4 Arsenal 5/1 Man Utd 5/1 Liverpool 25/1 Tottenham 100/1 Southampton 250/1 Everton 250/1 As the season progresses changes expected
