Sterling doesn't want to be here because the club is going nowhere and there is no plan.

What happens when Coutinho or Sakho or Can feel the same in the next year or two?

My numbers are correct. Andy Carroll is the most expensive player in LFC's history and he cost £35million. As a club that is the most you have spent on a player so it is big money to you. Fakht.

There is a clause in place, QPR are hoping we get as much as possible for him.

Yes so £35m isn't even remotely worth considering unless they also cover sell on percentage AND agent fees AND player payments (transfer request) AND the add-ons are not dependent on winning trophies AND we get a percentage of any further sell on

Gotta look at it from FSG's perspective to see the full picture, their valuation will be around the £50m mark because they obviously want him to stay and are kissing his arse behind the scenes and if they have to sell it'll be on their terms after getting their fingers burnt over the Carroll and Downing signings and Brendan's **** ups in last summer's window.
Not that I or many others think he's worth that kind of fee but its supply and demand and if City or any other club are prepared to throw FSG's valuation into the hat more fool them.

I'm not a scout, I don't know all the footballers across Europe/The World - You're the one who said he's arguably the best young player in world football, if that was the case then why aren't Europes Elite queueing up for him, rather than City trying to fill their HG quota?

What would you be happy to sell him for?

Suarez didn't want to play for us when we rejected Arsenal. Alonso was p*ssed off when Rafa tried to sell him for Barry - both players ended up having their best seasons.

Players are not that stupid that theyre willing to not put in the effort if they stay at the club because it only damages their reputation and potential move in the future.

Pellegrini also valued Sterling at £100m

Their manager. Their valuation. Their problem.

You don't know that and don't know what'll happen in the future. I have the same concerns as you but football continues to surprise as it did when we finished 2nd, if you had said that we'd challenge for the league at the start of that season every fan in the country including our own would laugh you out of the room. Everyone was wrong.

I don't have a lot of faith in Rodgers but I do look at the squad and don't see a lot wrong with it, I remain steadfast that 3 signings transform our team. Will he get those signings right? I don't think so but hope I'm wrong.

If you can;t name any other young players in that age range, then how can you argue against my point that he is one of (if not the) best youngsters?

Like I said, he was voted European Golden Boy in 2014 - the same award the likes of Isco, Gotze have all won.

Chelsea, City and Bayern have a known interest in the kid. Not a bad list of teams.

I do understand your point about the transfer request as that's one thing that pissed loads us off with Adam, as despite him acting up n saying he wouldn't play for us again etc. he refused to hand in a transfer request so we still had to pay him his loyalty bonus. I do think in a lot of these deals (where selling club is reluctant) the buying club does end up covering a lot of the fees you're mentioning (again like Lallana, his price was high due to sell-on due to Bournemouth) What I am trying to say is would you rather take 35-40 now or potentially 15-20 next Summer?

You're being very strict with the age range, 20 and under and outside of the PL we are very unlikely to have heard of them yet, unless you follow football religiously across many different countries (I don't).

As for Chelsea & Bayern interest, is that confirmed or paper talk? If he was 'the best young player in the world' I think it wouldn't be just City who are bidding.

Either way, enough of that argument, what would be an acceptable price for you to let him leave this Summer?

£35m for Sterling, that is just about right. Other clubs will know that Ibe is the real talent at Liverpool and will be saving the money for an offer on him next season.

With him only having a few years left of his deal why would clubs pay over the odds. Let Rodgers keep developing him from the best youngster in Europe to the best player and take him for a minimal fee/free in about two years time<ok>

You haven't got complete control, over it at all.

He's openly said he wants to leave, he's only got 2 years left, so he has to go this window in order for you to gain the maximum value that you can from the sale. Therefore, clubs know that you won't shut the door in their face as you have to sell this window, therefore you're not in control as you would be if he had say 3 or 4 years left, as you can't let it roll on beyond August.

He's not even the best young player in the EPL let alone the World ffs.

    so?

Its only moeny after all. If they back themselves into a corner and say take it or leave it and we say... bye... then where are they?

there's two sides to it after all. Yours is quite reasonable but so is ours.

I would agree it should not go beyond this window or the price drops but equally in some bizarre world sterling could panic after 3 months in the u21s and sign a new deal. god only knows really. the euros coming up might panic him if he's frozen out by us. That of course depends on what orders are given to rodgers from on high.

the most likely scernario is an acceptable deal is stuck in the next month or so foar the player.
