Agree with this, bollox to all this add ons stuff - we couldn't give a **** how you or he get on when he's gone. Pay up and then he's your problem.
yes. it does smell of city thinking they can get something for nowt.. well not really nowt but on the sly.
think all clubs try this on don't they, all this add on bollocks included in fee to get it cheaper and then stop playing the player so they don't have to pay out on the add ons, sure most clubs have done that ****e to other clubs?
Probably helps get around FFP as well as don't have to pay all money out in one go so can split it over several seasons.
That said if we blow all this cash on Benteke I will be fuming. I'd rather throw the whole wad at Lyon & Lacazette with 180K in wages and see him ditch Lyon because its all about the $terlings
with the favorable exchange rate city's money would stretch that bit further no question. I would rather punt on someone than benteke as i don't see the point of it. everything screams to me you shafted carroll... you refused to play benteke you ignored lambert... why on earth would you buy another big unit?
Committee signings not sanctioned by Pep Rodgers? What is never clear is if some of these signings are put to vote and majority wins where there is no consensus. That would be the only reason I'd think Rodgers survived the chop in that some of the big flops may not have been his signings. Before anyone quotes me this is just an assumption.
Sell Sterling for £40-50m and bring in Firmino and Kovacic/Aubamayeng. Would love to keep Sterling but IF we get 2 of the 3 above, we'll be in a much better position.
If they are, then fair enough. They're good signings. I don't have a problem with who signs them, I just want them to be good enough for this club.
Where for Roberto Firmino? Liverpool are showing "strong" interest in Hoffenheim midfielder Roberto Firmino, according to reports in Brazil. The 23-year-old is also being tracked by Manchester United and Manchester City and is poised to move to England this summer. However, Liverpool appear to be at the front of the queue and are keen to bring the Brazilian international to Anfield. Firmino has spent five years with the Bundesliga club, scoring 49 times in 153 appearances, but his deal at the German club expires in 2017. The player's agent, Roger Wittmann, confirmed this week that his client will move to the Premier League. He told Bild: "All I can say is that he will go to England." The Frenchman has been linked with a move to the Emirates since he put in a sterling display against the Gunners in the Champions League earlier this campaign. AC Milan have reportedly already offered £14.3million for the 22-year-old, but the Gunners are still hoping that they can secure their man this summer. Wenger is hoping that a personal intervention can convince him to come to north London. Digne, 21, is expected to leave the French champions this summer and has been valued at around £8.5million. The Reds are thought to be the favourites for his signature, but the likes of Valencia and Roma are also interested in signing him. Digne is currently under contract until 2018 with PSG. City had an initial £25m bid - with £5m in add-ons - for Sterling rejected by Liverpool, but have returned with an improved offer. Liverpool value Sterling at £50m but City are confident their latest bid will prove successful and see Sterling move to the Etihad Stadium. Sterling, 20, has two years left on his current contract and Liverpool risk seeing his transfer value plummet if they hang on to him for next season, increasing the pressure on them to accept City's latest bid. If City are successful with the bid, Sterling will become Manuel Pellegrini's first signing of the summer, with the Blues keen to add Juventus's Paul Pogba and Wolfsburg's Kevin De Bruyne as part of a £150m spending spree. The Turkish Superlig title winners want to offer both players Champions League football next season. Podolski, 30, has been surplus to requirements at Arsenal and spent the second half of last season at Italy's Inter Milan. The Germany international is set to move for around £1.4million. Spain international Soldado is expected to be shipped out of Tottenham this summer. The club are bracing themselves to take a hit on the £26million they splashed out to land him from Valencia two years ago - Galatasaray believe they can get the 30-year-old for just £9million. City are set to make a renewed offer for Anfield forward Sterling after having a £30million offer rejected last week. They are also ready to offload reserve frontman Dzeko, but the 29-year-old is not keen on a move to Merseyside and it looks like the Blues will need to try to do a straight cash deal on Sterling. Following on from that, it's now believed that City's new offer will come in at just under the £40million mark - plus various add ons. Will Liverpool continue to hold firm? Mentioned Firmino last summer and he's who we should have got instead of Lallana. He's now broken into the national team and is more widely known. Will be difficult to attract him if other CL clubs are involved. Kondogbia should be our number 1 target IMO.
I see the term take it or leave it in there. I think we should hold now and see if they ring up in August if that's where they are at. Ok if we have no money to buy anyone it's trouble but **** it I think they'll increase.....
Don't think we'll sell Sterling... will be like when Suarez wanted out for the first time. FSG will dig in and give em the 'what are they smokin over at E(mirates)tihad' treatment You can string me up on that comment when he goes to City on deadline day
I think we will sell, but like you say, FSG will dig in, its 50m.. or don't bother wasting the toner in the fax machine sending any new offers!
