I noticed Foo Fighters have had to pull out of headlining Glastonbury because of Grohl's leg break. Please God do not replace them with Coldplay...
James Blunt @JamesBlunt Amazed and thrilled to get the call from @GlastoFest to headline in place of @foofighters. Of course I said yes! #rockon
He's crap when it comes to music, but his twitter account is top notch. I reckon it'll be Blur or Noel Gallagher who replaces them. I want The Strokes personally.
I cry foul on this one Luke, well in the case of Celine Dion, I was never a fan of her warbling until my wife and I saw her concert A New Day in Las Vegas then it was a conversion. She was awesome in every respect for 2hrs she mesmerised her audience with singing and dancing she was the all round consummate performer as she belted out all of her hits, we were smitten. I agree she is not most peoples cup of tea and she wasn't mine until Las Vegas but we returned a year later and saw the show again and bought the DVD to go with, I still watch it in awe.
From my point of view, her voice grates... but if you like her, fair enough. I like "Islands In The Stream" by Dolly Parton & Kenny Rogers. Don't know why - it's at odds with my tastes generally, but something just clicks in the brain
I don't get Level 42. I hate that funk thing on the guitar (see Red Hot Chili Peppers). But jazz-funk just takes it to another level - Level 42, in fact.
I always like to watch the Glasto highlights, but this year there doesn't seem to be much to hook me in. There's The Fall, but I doubt the BBC will rush to show them. Last year you had QOTSA, Pixies & Arcade Fire, so that was good. Kanye and Florence...no thanks.
Looks I'll be skipping that one then! The other stages on Friday seem to be showing nowt great anarl. At last on Saturday I can ignore Kanye's bullshit and listen to Suede on another stage. At least one of the headliners interests me, too bad they're on on Sunday, when I'll undoubtedly not be watching.
To be fair, the headliners in 2011 were worse. They were U2, Coldplay and Beyoncé. In comparison, at the same time as these 3, other stages were showing Primal Scream, The Chemical Brothers and Queens of the Stone Age. All 3 of those much better than the headliners. Usually there is a good act on somewhere, but this year there genuinely doesn't seem to be.
