Good Morning Everyone, Bournemouth have joined the race to sign ex Leeds star Max Gradel. The Ivory Coast international is being chased by a host of Premiership clubs. According to many reports, Gradel has not quite hit the form he shower for Leeds 4 years ago. The South Coast new boys are believed to have made an offer of 3.6m Thoughts? Leeds have signed a five year kit deal with Kappa, which according to Pearson in the largest commercial deal in the Championship by far. There will not be a logo on the shirt, due to the on going dispute between Enterprise Insurance and the Elland Road club. Instead, it will be a plain white shirt, white shorts, and apparently no other trim either. Shame Leeds don't put a charity on the shirt. Here's one I made earlier... please log in to view this image Thoughts? Adam Pearson has been speaking to LUTV about Summer signings. He has disclosed that we need up to 5 key players :- "Everybody knows we need three, four or five key signings and the positions in which they are needed but they need to be the right players," Pearson told LUTV. "I prefer to do it slowly, in an orderly manner and get the players absolutely right because we will never have a better opportunity to build a team than this. "Ideally, you want them here as early as possible but I would rather have the right players at the right price than rush it just for the sake of squad filling. "We are now all in place off the field to move forward, we now need some more players in the squad to balance it, finish it off, give it some experience and some Championship know how."
New Leeds kit will be unveiled at an exclusive event at Elland Road for season ticket holders on July 9
Morning Elland and all. I struggled to sleep after excitement of the presser. No shirt sponsor and a deal with Kapa that Pearson says can be lucrative if we work hard on it. In other words, if they manage to flog enough of them. Players coming in must be at right price. I know what that means, cheap or free or on loan. So nothing changes just Pearson speaks infinitely better than Cellino. Better PR thats all
Pearson is already managing our expectations. To translate what he said about player signings, we wont be buying anyone decent early in the the window. We will wait till everyone else has signed who they want and we will try and pick up the cast offs, cheap serie B players and journeymen in August. Thoughts about your shirt design........ You have too much time on your hands. Morning BTW.
Good Morning Matt and co from a dull Bardsey You forgot to mention that next years fixture list will be announced to day at 9am QPR first game ?
Elland I too am away next week on a golf trip to Marbella, but will be with Mrs Doc so a slightly different trip than I normally have Pearson talks a good game without telling us much, but what you can deduce so far is this: We are going after up to 5 new players. We are in no rush means we don't want to pay a lot for them or give them huge wages, so will go after lesser known players and loanees
Hi Elland I know I am relatively new to these boards but could I be so bold as to suggest that what would be really interesting would be to have a combined effort. What we need is two people that are experienced members, live close to each other and don't always share the same point of view to liven things up a bit. A little get together over a coffee in the mornings and throw some ideas around - would you know any members like that?
I love the sound of an all white leeds shirt with no logo. Don't care what anyone else says. Definitely buying one, regardless of who owns the club and whether I like/dislike them. They have finally made a product better than it has been for many a year and that is deserving of my money.
Fixture list: http://www.leedsunited.com/news/art...itle/leeds-united-fc-full-201516-fixture-list We're at home to Burnley first game of the season.
Forest away boxing day, oooo And Preston away last game of season, Grayson and Beckford last game, is it an omen?
Burnley will be a great first game as they look to go for a bounce back to the prem, and we look at what we've got and if our coach can cut it? We are bound to have the scruffiest bunch of fans in the league this season as our lot wearing white will have a variety of beers stains, gravy drips, egg yolk, chocolate, coffee meat pie ..... If you wear the new white shirt get a bib you animals
I don't think we'll be ready for that Burnley game. I'm just hoping their better players have all been stripped off them by prem clubs and they haven't had the time to sign replacements by the start of the season.
I'm never really bothered about kits these days but must admit I'm happy Kappa are making them and no sponsor sounds pretty swish. Might actually buy this'un. Morning everyone.
Morning all Ell, I'll do the threads as and when I can. Burnley eh? tough one to start with. Lets hope there team getting picked appart at the last minute!
Morning all Kappa as a shirt supplier, not bad TBH but I would have preferred NIke or Puma. Every time I think of a White Kappa top my thoughts are suddenly brought to those old White T-Shirts chavs wore in the 90s with the logo down the sleeves. Two North West clubs to start and finish the season. OK that's cool. When Pearson says five players is that five more than the 3 we already have making it 8 players this summer?
I don't spill my beer so no worries on that score.......balti pie may be a bit different though..........
Morning all. Right, flights booked and hotel sorted so look out Leeds the Dublin whites are over for the Burnley game........
